Turkish Muslim imam kicks off Congress with prayer
Turkish Muslim imam Abdullah Antepli from Duke University delivered the opening prayer for the US House of Representatives on Wednesday, where the Armenian âgenocideâ bill was put to the vote in the Foreign Relations Committee on Thursday.
The US Congress has opened with prayers since 1789 but it is an honor only three Muslims have been given so far, the last occasion being in 2003. Antepli was invited to give the prayer by Democrat Representative David Price from North Carolina.
How can Congress be an embarrassment to Christianity? Theonomists need to remember that it is not a Christian institution in the 1st place, & that it is doubtful whether any of its members believe the Gospel. Only Christians can be an embarrassment to Christianity.
