Salvation Army to stop proselytizing in New York
A settlement agreement in a lawsuit filed by the New York Civil Libertys Union against the Salvation Army was announced yesterday, Feb. 17. The suit, filed in 2004 on behalf of 18 current and former Salvation Army employees, alleged that, though the organization was a recipient of government funding, it was violating the division of church and state by requiring workers disclose how often they attend church, along with their religious affiliations and sign an endorsement of the Salvation Army's mission to "preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ." ...

"NYCLU; "when religious organizations use government money to administer these services, there is a risk that the services will be tailored to meet religious principles." "Procedures must be put in place to prevent taxpayer money from promoting religion""

There is not the least iota of a thought that the NYCLU is interested in the tax payers, the well being of the down and out's, or social works which the Salvation Army is conducting. There entire aim is to attack religion as it is anywhere in the country. Clearly the NYCLU is satanic!

As Jesus said, "The poor will always be with you." He was talking to Judas Iscariot when He said this. NYCLU are clearly related to Judas.

Jn 12:4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him, 5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. 7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. 8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always."

It's Been Aforestated That GENERAL WILLIAM BOOTHE, The VERY Physical Founder Of THE SALVATION ARMY, Said Before He Left This World:

"I Fear The Day When The Salvation Army Will Be More Army Than Salvation." !

Well, BR. WILLIAM BOOTHE, That Day Has ALREADY Come To Pass; In The Settlement Agreement In A Lawsuit Filed By The New York Civil Libertys Union Against The Salvation Army !

Many Americans, Englishmen & Europeans In General Have FORGOTTEN That GENERAL WILLIAM BOOTHE'S "SALVATION ARMY" WAS ITSELF ORIGINALLY BORN IN THE BLOOD OF THE WITNESSES, STREET EVANGLISTS & PERSONAL-SALVATION-SOULWINNERS OF BR. BOOTHE'S "VOLUNTEER-ARMY" &-OR "SALVATION ARMY" !

I Personally Have Read The Accounts Of How WILLIAM BOOTHE Would Go Out Into The Slums & Ghettos Of LONDON & Street-Preach: (He Would Preach His Heart & Lungs Out) To The LOST Of LONDON Until Gangs Of Hoodlums & Ruffians Would Come, With Sticks & Clubs, And BEAT WILLIAM BOOTHE TO A BLOODY MESS !

It's Said BR. BOOTHE WOULD HAVE TO BE RESCUED BY HIS "SALVATIONISTS" FROM LITERALLY BEING BEATEN TO DEATH BY THE ANGRY MOBS OF LONDON !

BOOTHE WOULD BE PICKED-UP MANY TIMES, ALMOST HALF-DEAD, ONLY TO GO BACK TO THOSE SAME STREET CORNERS & ALLEYS TO PREACH THE AUTHORIZED BIBLICAL LITERAL GOSPEL OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ! ! !

“We ought to obey God rather than men"

Acts 5:28-30 saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!” But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.

This is exactly why Rescue Mission, such as those affiliated with the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM) refuse government money and United Way money.

This isn't your fault is it?
Nope. They do good work. The anti-religious bigots of the NYCLU aren't worried about how "government" money might be spent, but what might possibly be said to the hungry people in regard to salvation. I wonder what the they think the word "salvation" could mean? Everyone who gets fed at the Salvation Army knows it is a religious organization. Someone should tell the bigots.

"The suit, filed in 2004 on behalf of 18 current and former Salvation Army employees, alleged that, though the organization was a recipient of government funding, it was violating the division of church and state.."

There's that non-existent division again. I wonder what the connection is between "violating the division..." and being a "recipient of government funding"? I never read this exception to the rule in the Constitution. But what do I know? Perhaps the court is able to find sub-tle noo-ahnces in simple words.

NYCLU legal director Arthur Eisenberg wrote:
Religious organizations such as The Salvation Army have played a historic role in the provision of social services programs for the community but, however well-meaning, when religious organizations use government money to administer these services, there is a risk that the services will be tailored to meet religious principles.

Procedures must be put in place to prevent taxpayer money from promoting religion and to prevent religious belief from limiting the services provided by religious organizations, especially in areas like sex education and family planning,

actually he said it and was written in the article.

This will happen when a religious organization gets tied into social work, if wishes also to preach the Word, then it would separate itself from government funding. The Arminian and ecumenical nature of the Salvation Army causes concern for many people, to a degree where I don't know how effective they are at preaching the Word.
