Gerry Adams admits he was not always 'in tune' with Jesus
In a Channel 4 documentary exploring his faith, the Sinn Fein president praised the moral example shown by Christ and the families of IRA victims who have forgiven their killers.

But he said his own actions were sometimes not “in tune” with Jesus as he was “leader of a struggle that has caused both hurt and damage to other human beings.”

Mr Adams, who attended mass every day during his 1973 internment in the Maze prison, said the teachings of the Sermon on the Mount are the cornerstone of what he regards as “the Jesus message” of mercy and forgiveness. ...

"Gerry Adams admits he was not always 'in tune' with Jesus"

This headline really is humorous to me! This because, "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"!

Psalm 53:3 Every one of them has turned aside; They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.

We have all sinned! And whether anyone is a sinner or saint, they have experienced temptation.

1 Peter 1:3-7 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

I don't like Gerry Adams condoning violent protest over the years, yet if my Grandpa had not been shot in the behind by the IRA, He wouldn't have moved to Canada meeting my Grandma!

Its sad that you guys can't accept democracy in government, but what is even more sad is your ranting against the Christian who tries to serve the community. "OUR" Bible still declares ....
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Romans 13.

I would like to thank Pro Rege for the comment confirming the DUP are not a Christian political party and Pro Rege has given very good examples to prove this and I could add many more.
The reason I used the wording in my previous comment that the DUP (Paisley's Party for Americans)had abandoned God's truth in order to be in government with IRA/SF was because Ian Paisley when he was leader of the DUP speaking from the pulpit of the Martyrs Memorial Church of which he is the minister described the DUP as the party of Truth & Righteous. The DUP clearly, is not the party of Truth & Righteous and should never have been promoted as such.
Therefore the fact that a christian minister, namely Ian Paisley, abused the pulpit to promote a none christian political party for his own ends which we now know to have been and still are anti scriptural calls into question the faithfulness to the Word of God of Ian Paisley & the Elders of the Martyrs Memorial Church who to this day are prepared to tolerate the anti scriptual position of their minister, Ian Paisley, in politcal life.

Finally outrage expressed over this Christ-dishonouring program, though one has to wonder why the silence on the part of N.I.'s Protestant Gospel Ministers?
How in God's name could Channel 4 ask this blood-soaked murderer to make a programme about Jesus?

"How on earth could this happen? You may suspect Gerry Adams was chosen to discourse on Jesus because he has freely admitted his sins, and apologised for his past. Christianity, after all, is a religion that extols forgiveness, and puts a high value on repentance. But Mr Adams is not sorry for what he did - not, of course, that he admits to having ever killed anyone. He says at least twice that violence was the only course open to people like himself.
I have seen a preview of the programme and it begins with a shot of the former terrorist at prayer. He informs us that he went to Mass while in prison. Then, with his vulpine features, and a sinister smile revealing shining, remodelled teeth, he tells us that 'along with others' he 'helped to bring peace to Ireland'. While stressing that he doesn't feel he has any blood on his hands, he says he wants 'to explore Jesus's message of forgiveness"

This comment is only on the latter part of the previous comment. The DUP has never been committed to God's Truth. They abandoned it long before they decided to deal with SF. They were better than most of the alternatives.

They had a lot of Christians as members, party officers and elected representatives. The Bible (AV) was supposed to be read at every meeting, but that was as far as it went.

They never tried to articulate christian politics. DUP fiscal policy was always socialist & redistribution-oriented, not Christian.

Truth was always compromised. One area where they could have made a long term difference was their policy on public enforcement of the Christian Sabbath. Instead, Mr Paisley promoted "local option". If local councillors wanted to promote Sabbath observance by closing public facilities on the Lord's Day (Ballymena), they were free to do so. But it was never party policy and if local councillors didn't wish to do this (Belfast), that was also very acceptable to the party. As can be expected, the christian position on God's Law was gradually buried.

Also, DUP fiscal policy has always been socialist, not Christian. Christian principle would have been a vote loser.

Gerry Adams still isn't in tune with the teachings of Jesus Christ but he is in tune with the DUP (for Americans Paisley's party) but then the DUP have abandoned God's truth in order to be in goverment with IRA/SF.

"Ralph Lee, Channel 4's head of specialist factual programmes, said he expected criticism when he commissioned the documentary, adding: “It is a natural reaction to the potency of getting Adams to tell this story.” "

Please let us know when he does tell his story and confess to his crimes.
In the meantime this just does not wash:-
"The 61-year-old Belfast-born Catholic has always denied having been a member of the Provisional IRA."
