The Beatles' drummer Ringo Starr admits: 'I have found God'
The reformed rock legend, who turns 70 in July, admitted he had lost his way when he was younger, first as a Beatle then later after the group broke up.
He experimented with LSD and marijuana when he was a Beatle in the 1960s, then later in the 1970s suffered alcohol and cocaine problems.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Starr, who is now a teetotal and has quit his 60-a-day cigarette habit, said that religion was one of the most important aspects in his life.

That is interesting, Marita. A small world, indeed, and so many ways to stay connected. I'm not into Facebook but did a quick search in hope of finding your site. No luck. Would you let ol' JD know I said hello and hope all is well with him?

Hi, Lurker! Yes, thanks for your reply...will look at that link you gave. It gives you a good feeling trying to sneak/peek back here at Sermonaudio just to find out how Mike-NY, John-UK, Michael Hranek, Jim Lincoln and you are doing...And it seems like nothing much have changed. But despite those differences, I know people care for one-another. Would you be interested to know that JD and I were now FB friends? ha,ha!

Hello Marita,
Yes it has been a long time. Don't be a stranger.
Elvis was raised a Christian but I can't speculate about his standing before God as his music career progressed. I believe his Christian up bringing showed in a lot of his music and I hope he came to terms with God before he died.

Since Ringo, seems to have an aversion about mentioning Christ, I would say he isn't a Christian. If he were he would proclaim it out loud and distinctly.
Matthew 5 13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how will it be made salty again? It is good for nothing anymore, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. 14 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 "Nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the peck-measure, but on the lampstand; and it gives light to all who are in the house---NASB

Is it the God of the Bible, the god of the koran, the impersonal force god of taoism and buddism, or god as Ringo concieves him to be? I used to pray for the salvation of John Denver. People thought that since he was into spirituality, that he must have been saved, but John was into EST New Age. People are so ready to proclaim someone saved, just because they mention God, but we need to find out what God they are talking about. If we have, or have had, a favorite musician or star,(or even if it's someone we don't like) we should pray that God would bring them to salvation.
John Denver was a Presbyterian according to his autobiography. Denver's funeral was conducted in a Presbyterian Church in Colorado. Nobody but Jesus knows for certain if Denver had received Jesus as his Personal Savior and Lord.
So, he thinks he has a handle on life now that he is older. And a cup full of God's wrath without Jesus Christ as his Savior.
One does not learn to handle life but learns that he cannot handle even himself as he is drawn to the only savior.
Ringo, also said, "Being on this quest for a long time, ITS ALL ABOUT FINDING YOURSELF." If you find yourself in Biblical terms you are lost and deny yourself.
"I stepped off the path there for many years and found my way back onto it, thank God." So, old Ringo was actually on the path of "my sweet lord" all along with just a temporary detour along the way?
Also, notice the curious curse word that was uttered in the interview.
Without an open public profession of Jesus Christ as his Lord, this infatuating, idolizing of a contemporary icon, is at the least questionable.6854

God bless /QUOTE]Very spiritual and insightful comment Bobby. In an age of pluralism, it is easy to lose sight that the path is still narrow and that will never change.

Let's pray Ringo is on the right path... Have you watched Keith Green's biography? He was into drugs, New Age, etc. before coming to the Lord. His story gives me hope for many lost souls.
