Kansas anti-gay church claims that God hates Ireland
Ireland has "absolutely failed its duty to God,” claims a website run by the notoriously anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church.

Based in Topeka, Kansas, the God Hates Ireland website has been created by the fundamentalist group to “expose Ireland as the Emerald (now Pink) Isle of the Sodomite Damned, saturated with fags and dykes at every level of society and government.”

Founded by pastor Fred Phelps, one of the most-infamous former students of Bob Jones University, the independent Baptist Church has targeted Ireland via their website for permitting legal equality for gay people. ...

great thx, i dont like offering advice but nobody else did

Having a family must be a help

The fact that you know God means you have NOT been given over to a reprobate mind as in Rom 1 - if anyone says that they are wrong because the singular charactaristic of the reprobate mind is that they cannot discern the things of God. The sin you have is not so overwhelming that it has caused you to cast aside the things of God. Quite an important thing to bear in mind i think

all the best

stay away at all times from former associates from this sin until you are stronger
avoid at all times situations or places which may tempt or remind you
i would drink all weekend not even eat at all if i started at lunchtime on friday so now i stay away from pubs
avoid christians who leave you feeling discouraged no matter how nice or sympathetic they may seem

if you arent married ask God to send you a wife
this probably sounds a bit glib but start with something small and build your strength up
Prince Charles,

Thank you for your most encouraging comments. It's a real blessing when another Christian brother shares, especially from the Word. It is indeed a very difficult cross to bear. I do have a wife and children.

May I use this forum to share? Thankfully, you guys in here, as well as Sermon Audio speak against the sin of homosexuality. It is a sin and the Bible is crystal clear about this.

I struggle with this sin and I need help to be made free from this sin. I have prayed many, many times to God for a true hatred for this sin. I have meant this with my whole heart. However, I still have urges for the same sex. I've struggled with this sin since I was 4 0r 5 years old. I never chose this "being gay", however I know it is a sin and I'm responsible. I need help from someone or some men that have "been there". Hopefully there's someone out there to truely help me in my need. ty

But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.
Jonah 4:1 KJV

And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
Jonah 4:2 KJV

But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered. And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.
Jonah 4:7-8 KJV

And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.
Jonah 4:9 KJV

Then said the LORD, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night: And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?
Jonah 4:10-11

what on earth do you mean by this john ? I explain that fred or whoever is pointing out a basic oft repeated (in the bible at least) scriptural basic, that God is angry every day with the wicked and hates workers of iniquity -

' We ' presumably this is intended for me and fred ? musnt dictate to God ?

The accusatory tone of this is patronising in the extreme and theologicaly ridiculous.

What is your evidence that i seek to dictate to God ?

What is your evidence that God would allow this ?

On second thoughts dont bother

I dont believe so....
Charles, one of the most amazing things about the way God works through the preached word is that you can never imagine how the Lord will affect a hearer by the content of the word preached.

For example, a simple preacher who expounds John 3:16 and spends much time on the love of God and little time on the fact of perishing in sin, may find that the Lord convicts a person so powerfully of his sin that he falls to the ground weeping uncontrollably and repeating over and over, "I'm lost! I'm lost! I'm perishing in my sins and there is none to help!"

The same simple preacher may the following week expound the text, "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?" In this, he spends most of the time on not escaping the fierce wrath of God due to sin, and only three minutes on the subject of the great salvation. And yet a person hearing it may go weak at the knees and cry out for joy, at the great love of God shown in Christ Jesus.

We must never dictate how God is to work, but trust that when we open our mouth to communicate, we engage in something most supernatural and spiritual.

nobody would doubt your credentials just because you disagreed with freds approach

excellent links very interesting i shall be spending some time going through the site,

the mainstream church compromise on the issues of fornication, adultery and divorce have allowed the normalisation of homosexuality to take place, the general church is in no authoratative position to oppose the homosexual lobby in the eyes of the wider society

My understanding is that God is angry with the wicked every day which includes gays as well as the other run of the mill sinners and that he does hate the workers of iniquity.

does transmitting that biblical truth make me or fred a hate merchant or a purveyor of a hateful gospel ?

I dont believe so

yes freds methods are a little in your face but biblical in my view when we consider what is at stake, an eternity of unimaginable despair and torment.

he wouldnt need to do this and i dont think he would if the wider church had not compromised itself into a position where it has no authority any more

as ive said before, WBC represents what used not long ago to be the mainstream

Seriously Charles no one is decrying the abomination of Sodomy, there is a Sovereign Grace Baptist Pastor in the Swansea area who wrote an excellent book on the pink plague but no publisher would touch it. He has testimonies of a 'saved' former lesbian and homosexuals, yet he doesn't duck any issue re: Gay Propaganda and exposing the perversion, for he was victimised and even lost his career and livelihood due to Sodomite hatred of Christians in his own work place.

"God hates Homosexuals" isn't the gospel that we are called to preach, lest you might think I might be soft on Sodomy then review the links below as it is a true gospel witness whilst exposing Homo-fascism. (Pastor Overdal is on SA)

What the Bible says

Homo-Fascist Watch

Testimony against Sodom

Sodomite Lobying Day

I know no Sound Calvinistic Church that supports WBC's methods, which is mostly his own family church and few disciples from outside that camp. What a contrast his hate message is to the Protestant evangelism of Pastor Overdal!

fred IS preaching the gospel to sinners anyone can listen to the sermons on line after being at the pickets

Fred is a FINAL WARNING from God to an apostate lukewarm church which is embarrassed about the Gospel and unwilling to defend itself against its soon to be persecutors.

I believe that God will use the 'diversity ' lobby to judge the churches

That the Nimrod of the last days will be a homosexual as many dictators before him

The normalisation of homosexuality will furthur open the floodgates of depravity in the world

The average person and christian and person is far to ambivilent toward gays.

mostly they think that gays are fairly ordinary, even effeminate and inoffensive.

Im afraid this is based upon ignorance of Gays in the present and past.

Fred is knowlegable about the Bible and history after all he is 80 and studied hard all his life

If he says they are beasts and vicious a wise man will look again i think

The worst tyrants in history have mostly been gay and child sex abusers

Gays often are also copraphiliacs and pursue other debased practices

The roman emporers at the time of the early church were gay, Hitler was gay and so were the inner circle of the nazi party and the SA

Gaydom has run like a poison stream thru history

Sodomy was ordinary in the roman army they were not permitted to marry, the bible calls them dogs. Roman soldiers were brutal efficient killers.
Jesus says at the crucifiction he is surrounded by dogs, he is not talking about labradors

Why does the bible call them dogs ? Think of dogs in the old days in Jerusalem, pack animals, libidinous, vicious and dangerous - want them running the show ? - you have been warned

Read the pink swastika, the homoerotic roots of the nazi party

this is stuff the gays dont want you to know

To continue...
Let it not be thought that those who are engaged in attempting to live 'exactly' as they imagine the Bible to teach, are necessarily disciples of Jesus Christ.

If you have the time, take a look at some of these extremely short, punchy articles, under the general heading of "Radical Bible" written by members of the independent Baptist Church known as the Jesus Fellowship Church here .

This 'church' is real keen on discipleship and believes that they are 'to go make disciples'. That includes teaching everyone to give up their money and live in poverty in community. They call this 'living in the fast lane' spiritually.

This 'church' portrays every other church as either poor examples of Christianity, or not an example at all.

Of course the JFC is attractive to some folks, especially in this apostate and spiritually degenerate country we live in, but...

They do not preach the gospel!

Don't be fooled by what is written on the website.

A man cannot be discipled unless he has become a disciple of Jesus Christ by responding to the gospel in faith and repentance.

So does WBC have more disciples.....? Well I don't know.

John UK,
Your comments are well received.
I do point out that Christ commanded to "teach ALL things". This also includes all the law and the prophets.
I wonder which church has more disciples as members, WBC or any of the mainline Protestant denominations? Thus, which is fulfilling the Great Commission?
I'll have a stab at answering this question, as it is a good question, and one which every church leader ought to take an interest in, seeing as the gospel message, although designed to bring sinners to faith, and therefore to justification by way of the imputed righteousness of Christ, is not designed to leave them in that position, even though to be justified is to be guaranteed eternal life, on account of the work of Christ which is perfect and cannot be gainsaid by false prophet nor the devil, but actually to continue on into ever increasing holiness of life by way of sanctification and, according to the Great Commission, the discipling by church leaders of new converts, namely, teaching them all the scriptures, especially the direct teachings of Jesus Christ, of which discipleship I have seen nothing in the mainline churches locally, rather antinomianism parading itself as freedom.

Back tomorrow with answer. oos!

I am glad he received a letter last year.

So did that letter change his ministry Charles...a heart now that sees God does indeed save even the sodomite sinner? Why not preach the gospel even to homosexuals...that there is HOPE in Christ. Read my posts-see the emphasis on THE GOOD NEWS.

Yes sodomy is an abomination which God hates, but sodomites can be saved and there is the balance...THE GOOD NEWS I don't see or hear that emphasis from WBC. If Fred had preached that emphasis for 46 years...?

Son your ears are fine, they could even pick up WBC broadcasts without an aerial

I'll post some interesting links later in the week
