Billy Graham, Joel Osteen React to Oral Roberts' Death
Prominent Christian leaders across the nation responded to the death of Charismatic evangelist Oral Roberts by heaping praises on him, describing Roberts as “a man of God” and “a great hero of faith.”
“Oral Roberts was a man of God, and a great friend in ministry,” said Billy Graham in a statement Tuesday. “I loved him as a brother.”
Graham – who is the same age as Roberts, 91 – said the two shared many quiet conversations over the years and Roberts spoke at one of his early international conferences on evangelism in the 1960s. The two had spoken just three weeks ago, Graham shared, during which time Roberts told him he was near the end of his life’s journey....

A shame they don't tell the truth that Oral Roberts was a cancer in Christianity, spreading false doctrine and associating with and promoting those who do (Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, etc.) while using his prosperity gospel to make false promises in the name of God and take money from people. Roberts spread the Word of Faith teachings, which are not Christian, and helped to dilute the true Christian gospel probably as much as anyone in the 20th century and replace it by the Word of Faith beliefs. Roberts was not a man of God, and anyone who says so is either a liar or utterly deceived.
I'm not surprised that Joel Osteen speaks well of Oral Roberts, since Osteen himself is a Word of Faith believer, not a Christian. Osteen passes himself off as a Christian because it helps sell books. But his theology is not Christian.
