Famous weather scientist: Climategate 'tip of iceberg'
The Colorado scientist described by the Washington Post as "the World's Most Famous Hurricane Expert" says the "ClimateGate" e-mails from the United Kingdom that revealed possible data manipulation are evidence of a conspiracy among "warmists," those who believe man's actions are triggering possibly catastrophic climate change.
"The recent 'ClimateGate' revelations coming out of the UK University of East Anglia are but the tip of a giant iceberg of a well organized international climate warming conspiracy that has been gathering momentum for the last 25 years," said Colorado State University's Dr. William Gray....
Speculative derivatives (especially credit default swaps or "CDS") are a primary cause of the economic crisis. They were largely responsible for bringing down Bear Stearns, AIG, WaMu and other mammoth corporations. http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2009/12/woma..
Now, Bloomberg notes that the carbon trading scheme will be largely centered around derivatives.
The banks are preparing to do with carbon what theyâve done before: design and market derivatives contracts that will help client companies hedge their price risk over the long term. Theyâre also ready to sell carbon-related financial products to outside investors.
[Blythe] Masters says banks must be allowed to lead the way if a mandatory carbon-trading system is going to help save the planet at the lowest possible cost. And derivatives related to carbon must be part of the mix, she says. Derivatives are securities whose value is derived from the value of an underlying commodity -- in this case, CO2 and other greenhouse gases.
Hopefully the kids who saw Gore's movie and were indoctrinated by public schools and media in this now (finally!!!) discredited issue won't develope the kind of paranoid distrust of authority that kids of the 60s generation had when confronted by the real and perceived hypocracy of their parents generation.
It's sad to see kids getting abused by even the best attempts of fallen adults to care for them & warn them--but that's the nature of the fallen world in which we live.
Thankfully, the truth is finally coming out about this whole climate change issue. Now we can put our efforts to solving REAL problems instead--like repairing the crediblity of our institutional scientific community.
