Over 150,000 Sign Manhattan Declaration in Less than a Week
The unprecedented pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-religious freedom Manhattan Declaration, unveiled in a press conference last Friday, has already been signed by over 150,000 individuals in less than a week, and the numbers are continuing to rise by the second.

The 4,700-word "Manhattan Declaration: A Call of Christian Conscience" was drafted by Dr. Robert George, Dr. Timothy George and Chuck Colson. At the time of its release last week it was signed by more than 125 prominent religious figures, including figures from Orthodox, Catholic and evangelical Christian denominations. That number has now risen to over 170, including 18 Roman Catholic bishops, in addition to the 150,000 ordinary Christians. ...

But Frank, Jesus taught.....

"8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations."

Any Christian ministry or individual operating as a representative of Christ or a Christian ministry that knowingly seeks moral alliances based on common moral ground with the unsaved is guilty of committing spiritual adultery. When this occurs, Satan’s children are elevated to the status of God’s children and God’s children are reduced to the same level as Satan’s. Christians should be actively engaged against anything prohibited by scripture, but to be bound together with unbelievers or to form some type of moral partnership with unbelievers to fight against, or for any moral issue is wrong. The means will never justify the end in God’s eyes. If God wants anything in our society changed, He does not need the help of the unsaved to accomplish His purposes. This has nothing to do with Christians feeling they are better than someone else or even judging someone else. It has everything to do with coming into agreement with God and the Holy Spirit about how we should interact morally with the world and with the God of this world, Satan. Would our triune God work with Satan on some moral issue? If He wouldn’t then we shouldn’t.

This document looks like ECT 3.0 to me. Maybe it's ECOT 1.0.

True Christians should NOT be signing any supposedly Christian documents created by pseudo-Christians and wolves in sheep's clothing. Roman Catholic and Orthodox Christianity is not true Christianity. So called Evangelical Christianity is allowing itself to be absorbed into the ecumenical “Christianity” of today which is moving toward a one world religion and is becoming pseudo, too.

The supporters of this document can cry “this is not evangelism” or “this is not a Christian document” all they want. That is a lie. It starts with the word “Christians” and thereby presents a view of “Christianity” to the world. The folks caught up in this “Christianity” are unable or unwilling to see through the Christian masks of their co-laborers. Maybe they are also wearing masks but have convinced themselves that they are real and not also using the Lord's Name in vain.

Very correct, Neil, I see Chuck Colson, has his stealthy hand in the second version of Promise Keepers and the Rising Tide of Ecumenism. This is an anti-Christian movement, and no Christian should have anything to do with this "Manhattan Project" because it's a bomb for true Christianity.

2 Corinthians 11
13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their deeds.---NASB

Good to see.

Remember folks this is not evangelism - it is simply reaching into society with a view to alerting them that there are still some folks who disagree with the current trend to destroy traditional moral standards.

Aside from what has already been pointed out by critics (like MacArthur & White) about its papering over doctrinal fault lines, it also whitewashes church history. No Christian should subscribe to falsehoods.
