Japanese Official Puts Down Christianity
As President Barack Obama prepares to visit Japan later this week, a top official in Japan’s new ruling party said Christianity was “exclusive and self-righteous” and that U.S. and European societies with a Christian background are “stuck at an impasse.”

Ichiro Ozawa, secretary general of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan and one of the country’s most powerful political figures, talked about religion after meeting with the head of the Japan Buddhist Federation. “U.S. and European societies, civilizations with an exclusive Christian background, are now stuck at an impasse,” the Asahi Shimbun newspaper quoted him as saying. Other newspapers also quoted him as saying to reporters that Christianity was “extremely exclusive and a self-righteous religion.” ...

That would be the first place to look. Yet not all the blame rests on the shoulders of these false shepherds. As in the days in Jeremiah, and in fulfillment of what Paul warned us through his letters to Timothy, many who call themselves Christian do so according to the teachings that tickle their ears with the myths and teachings that they want to hear. Which amounts to nothing different than the world's philosophies and traditions which have been since the beginning: namely will worship, and what man himself can do for his salvation. The result of which when mixed with biblical concepts results in the Babylonian form of Christianity that is growing in the world around us.

Good Post.

Could this problem be because first of all far too many "pastors" are missinforming their congregations of what it means to be a born again obedient to the Father's will child of God?

Clearly this politician has been misinformed as to the true definition of what it means to be a Christian. The idea of a Christian being self-rightous is a contradiction in terms. The true Christian is the one who recognizes the wretchedness of his own righteousness. The true Christian has come to know the true meaning of salvation in knowing Christ as our Righteousness.

It is all other religions and philosophies, (including pseudo/antichristian ones), where man is depending on, and proclaiming in his pride, the ability of his own efforts, his own righteousness to save him. It is the world at large that has rejected the true gospel of Jesus Christ: or as the LORD spoke through Jeremiah: the LORD our Righteousness.

Buddhism vs. Christianity and America Smiles on the Buddha–part 1.

The Japanese seem to forget the vicious type of behavior their brand Buddhism engendered in World War II.

there certainly is an impasse, namely between truth and man worship.
An honest rebuke against those issues that are brazeningly anti-biblical and an afront to the memories of good men are censured to avoid insulting the preachers who have grossly erred from god`s law for the pursuit of ego.Sad to say this also applies to this sermon audio

"a top official in Japan’s new ruling party said Christianity was “exclusive and self-righteous” and that U.S. and European societies with a Christian background are “stuck at an impasse.”"

Sounds like this poor reprobate has just committed hara kiri. May the Lord have mercy upon him and his nation.
