Salt Lake City passes gay rights laws with Mormon backing
The Mormon church for the first time has announced its support of gay rights legislation, an endorsement that helped gain unanimous approval for Salt Lake City laws banning discrimination against gays in housing and employment.
The Utah-based church's support ahead of Tuesday night's vote came despite its steadfast opposition to gay marriage, reflected in the high-profile role it played last year in California's ballot measure that barred such unions.
"The church supports these ordinances because they are fair and reasonable and do not do violence to the institution of marriage," Michael Otterson, the director of public affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said....
We should not be stupefied at this pronouncement. I wonder how many cults were in the catacombs? True believers who did not sign the certificate back then were a minority and in the end will be likewise. I also wonder if they contacted their renown and beloved American political and historical scholar Mr. Skousen?

Why is it necessary for a specific group of people to advertise their sexual act preferences in any situation in the community prior to acceptance?
BTW. "something in the Bible"..... Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Such bans destroy the Biblical freedom to do business & associate with whomever one chooses. And assuming you believe discrimination against the "uncredentialed" is acceptable, on what basis do you reject other criteria w/o special pleading? Whence this distinction? And who, besides a mind-reader, is competent to determine whether an employer rejected an applicant for his sexual preferences vs. anything else?
Even "liberals" practice discrimination. Let's turn the tables - if you were an employer, would you like being forced to hire an obnoxious, loudmouthed Fundamental Baptist?

Revelation 21 6 And He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. 7 "He who overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. 8 "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."---NASB
