Mayor refuses to judge 'evil' Halloween pumpkin contest
Tom Wilson, the mayor of Nuneaton, and his wife councillor Sonja Wilson, turned down an invitation to judge the event due to their religious beliefs, according to a newspaper report.
They were asked to go to Nuneaton Town Centre for Saturday afternoon event but after consulting fellow members at their Manor Court Baptist Church decided against it.
"People organise Halloween parties for children without even thinking about what is behind it."
And that is precisely the point of the matter. Ignorance!!
Satan laughs and wins when society plays these little games without thinking it through properly. They see it as harmless fun. One of the reasons for this is an ineffectual church practicing the religion of Liberalism. Many sat in pews and not a few stood in pulpits, do not perceive the dangers of mollifying occult practice because they think Satan and hell are just myth. Sadly the poor fools along with their children will find out the truth the hard way.
2Cor 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
How many really believe this verse, (even in the churches)....... Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
"I was brought up as a Christian but I don't see anything wrong" with it. What a liberal & open-minded point of view. The world is full of "liberal Christians" with empty heads. A cursery look at Scripture will encourage avoidance & for what it`s worth The Mayor has my whole-hearted approval.
