Blair set to be president of Europe
SPECULATION was growing last night that Tony Blair, the former prime minister, will shortly be installed as the first president of Europe, with an expected Yes vote in the second Irish referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

British government sources have been briefing that Mr Blair will be given the position created by the adoption of the treaty, which was blocked by Ireland in the country's first referendum on the subject.

French president Nicolas Sarkozy is known to support Mr Blair's nomination, while opposition from the recently re-elected German chancellor Angela Merkel has been dropped with the promise of a key position in the EU Commission for a German. ...

Thanks, Opened eyes. I knew I had read the statement of Pope Nicholas before; I just couldn't remember who stated it.

2007 To complete his conversion, Mr Blair must recite the Catholic creed and state: "I believe and profess all that the holy Catholic Church believes, teaches, and proclaims to be revealed by God."

The Pope will be pulling his strings.

Many years ago, Cardinal Manning said: "The Catholic Church is either the masterpiece of Satan or the Kingdom of the Son of God."
Cardinal Newman acknowledged: "If not divinely appointed, it is doctrinally the essence of antichrist."

Pope Nicholas said of himself: "I am in all and above all, so that God Himself and I, the vicar of God, hath both one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do…wherefore, if those things that I do be said not to be done of man, but of God, what do you make of me but God? Again, if prelates of the Church be called of Constantine for gods, I then being above all prelates, seem by this reason to be above all gods. Wherefore, no marvel, if it be in my power to dispense with all things, yea with the precepts of Christ." (Decret. par. Distinct 96 ch. 7 edit. Lugo 1661)

The Pope is THE Antichrist

The article doesn't mention the fact that Tony Blair converted to Catholicism. Very convenient for the Roman Catholic church, I'd say.
I wonder what those true disciples of Christ, who live in Europe think of this whole affair, i.e. the European Union? When so much power is centralized in one single individual it can only lead to serious trouble. And these kind of things always go way beyond what is either proposed or expected. And they are impossible to undo, once done, except by a major crisis or a war.
We certainly live in strange and troubling times. But God still reigns supreme over all...

Early returns show solid Irish `yes' to EU treaty
Quite agree with your comment, Alan H. The people of Britain in the majority have little idea concerning either politics or religion. The EU has been carefully scheming its way towards complete control. The British were duped into the initial referendum by the words "Common Market" with promises of more commerce by joining Europe. As you say, it is far too late now to turn back, and we're too soft for a civil uprising.
