Preacher threatened with arrest for reading Bible in public
Lawyers acting for Miguel Hayworth, 29, have demanded an explanation over the alleged intimidation and abuse of power by three officers.
Andrea Minichiello Williams, the director of the Christian Legal Centre, has written to Peter Fahy, the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester, over the incident.
She claims that Mr Hayworth and his father, John, 55, were unlawfully and unfairly treated as they preached Christianity in the city at the end of July.
"They were clearly told that reading the Bible and preaching can be offensive and that they could be arrested," she wrote....
I fear some Reformed Churches need to digest more of C H Spurgeon?
Amen. He definitely was an evangelistic Calvinist. Some teach that evangelism is unnecessary, which is unbiblical.
It's tough to walk toward them who are without, to redeem the time preaching and prophesying Christ to a disillusioned public. It's because the Churches are partial in the covenant. Many do not even know whether there be any year of release, jubilee, or feast weeks, or sabbath days: if some men observe these, yet the poor (who are desirable as EQUALS in the Lord) that would are not enabled by release of debts, nor given hire to afford the liberty, nor paid for labors the same day. Some are too busy, and others are occupying just to keep in line, because men judge for not holding employment, and resist God by laying the yoke with feigned expectations: yet the Lord will pluck up and cast down, even as he had respect to Israel when they were bondmen. Isaiah mentioned about the time there was not any work that the Egyptians could do. Not that any of that is an excuse to sin, for the wicked will yet sin even in the land of the upright. Yet all of the Churches are partial in the covenant, not known to be full of the word and Holy Ghost, and they do originate sin (like justifying war after the flesh rather than publishing the Gospel to save soules): for that we will suffer much tribulation before the kingdom is restored, and only a remnant will return as the former of all things.

Good to read about such a witness!
Having been homeless you can recognise the true beggar-he will kindly appreciate the offer of 'food'. The false will want your money for drink/drugs. Offer some 'GREGG'S' sausage rolls and there is an opportunity to witness! I gave some money the other day as the 'friend' seemed sober. Went to buy him some food and came back and saw him go in the pub. There are several regular beggars here with serious mobile phones and a lift home in a fancy car! The liars need Christ too!
'The World also lies before us to be conquered for the Lord Jesus. We are not to leave any country or corner of it unsubdued. The slum near our house is before us, not to baffle our endeavours, but to yield to them. We only have to summon courage enough to go forward, and we shall win dark homes and hard hearts for Jesus. Let us never leave the people in a lane or alley to die because we have not enough faith in Jesus and His gospel to go up and possess the land. No spot is too benighted, no person is so profane as to be beyond the power of grace. Cowardice, begone! Faith marches to the conquest.'

This last week I was out sketching Tenby harbour with a friend, and we happened on a real tramp. His long hair was all matted and he stank so much that when I got home I had to shower straight away and put all my clothes in the tub for washing. How sorry I felt for him, in his miserable estate. But we witnessed to him for about an hour, and told him his condition before God, that he was lost and undone, and bound for hell without Jesus.
I left him with one short scripture to memorise, which I hope he remembers: "Seek ye the Lord, while he may be found." I told him that the verse shows that God "may be found" and that the method was "seek ye the Lord" and that he could "find the Lord" that very night, if he came to God humbly and repentant, seeking forgiveness.

Why does it appear many UK churches are obsessed with refuting Richard Dawkins? I am beginning to notice reformed churches almost solely made up of University educated individuals, plenty intellectualism yet no street evangelism? Now don't mistake me-we of course need/love such gifted educated and great Christian minds.
The major problem is a good percentage of the UK NEVER hear the gospel. Many living on council estates won't find Christ via their worldly TV or internet- they haven't heard of HIM (or Dawkins) and how will they hear of Christ? Not every person will want to engage us on the subject of Evolution or Dawkins-some will, most have no interest. We are firstly called to preach Christ-HIM CRUCIFIED. Now if we get back to the basics
I bless God for churches who are evangelistic and where even the illiterate and the council house dweller are as much part of the fellowship as anyone else-some are just as gifted to

Aaawww Mike I love you too. I sometimes wonder if you have prophetic powers Mike. You started ploughing over there yet?

Great ideas John. But these are unusual times arn't they. We have had times in our history where good servants of Christ were burned at the stake. Back in Victoria's age the lack of education did not prevent tract distribution, some people did Bible reading for the illiterate from door to door. The Reformation brought the Bible closer to ordinary folks, fighting the suppression of the RCC and their superstitions.
But today we have to overcome covetousness and ye old popular god of mammon. Also there is a distinct decline in the number of people who find a pew, to at least begin the process. Then there is the church of ignorance and error which nullifies the work, but still finds a place in the community.
The battle of course is well in hand against the forces of darkness and their insidious offensive, such as tares amongst the wheat, false teachings and confusion.
But hey, some things never change! Jesus started with just twelve and look what happened.

If the entire church in the UK was to get mobilised, and get out there every weekend for a few hours, along with door-to-door work midweek, hospital visitation etc. there would soon be a reviewal of the ridiculous laws being passed in our land, and our freedom to speak out would be retained.
The alternative is to remain fast asleep in Zion, snoozing away while souls go to hell, while we enjoy our little get-togethers once a week at our little (and decreasing) elite clubs which we call churches.
I am willing and able enough to hand out tracts on the street, but where oh where are the CHURCHES who would appreciate someone doing that? Especially if the tracts had the name of their church on the back? (Ooooo, I don't want any trouble in MY church.)

Clearly incidents such as this are on the increase in the satanic United Kingdom of Sodom and Gomorah.
The church and Bible are becoming an irrelevance to this evil people.
Today the battle is more in the open between Christ and Satan via their followers, and the numbers game is being won by Satan. That is reality.
The political and bureaucratic leadership is also being won by Satan since his followers are in the majority. Institutions are being taken over by sodomites and their supporters such as is depicted in this article, and government and education are being turned to the moral corruption of the abomination.
Where do we go from here???
