The crowd attending the B.C. Supreme Court trial in which four dissident Anglican parishes are claiming ownership of the multi-million-dollar places in which they worship has received some entertaining lessons in the meaning of âorthodox.â
The conservative parishes are claiming theyâre the âorthodoxâ Anglicans in B.C.âs diocese of New Westminster. Their priests say theyâre the true followers of hundreds of years of Anglican tradition -- and thatâs a key reason they deserve to hold onto the properties even though theyâve quit the Anglican Church of Canada.
The conservative priests have maintained for years that Vancouver-area Bishop Michael Ingham is decidedly âunorthodoxâ in his approval of same-sex blessings, his interpretation of the Bible and in his openness to other religions and philosophies.
There was a surprise in store, however, when Regent College professor John Stackhouse, an...
Actually Jim, orthodox Anglicans are perfectly fine Christians. They believe in Faith Alone, Scripture alone, etc. Their interpretation may vary from yours, but that's about all. The liberal Anglicans, on the other hand, are a religion unto themselves and have abandoned the traditional(and therefore orthodox) Anglican doctrine of Scripture Alone.
Unfortunately, these so called "orthodox" priests do not uphold,
Christians since the New Testament Church, agree on the following five principles.
A Christian believes that it is: Individual repentance, one cannot be born a Christian. It is Christ alone, no belief in works or membership in a particular human organization. Grace alone, Christ's grace is completely sufficient for our salvation -- again no church can dole it out. Faith alone, again, we cannot add to what God has given us, or Christ's sacrifice is meaningless. For the Glory of God alone, no church or man can have God's glory. Scripture alone, you should see enough examples of organizations that Christians would consider cults, because they have extra biblical authority.
An Anglican Christian is an oxymoron, since they don't hold to all of the above minimal requirements for a person to be an orthodox Christian.
""After swearing on the Bible, Ingham (right) testified that he agreed with the Archbishop of Canterbury that âorthodoxâ should be defined as a willingness to uphold a âlong traditionâ that is âbroad, not narrow.â"
Rowan Williams and his Anglican Liberal confusion wouldn't know "orthodox" Christianity from a duck on heat.
They use words and terms only to excuse and sanitise man, his culture, his sins, his perversions and his abominations.
Isa 3:9 "The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. 11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him."
