Radio Legend Paul Harvey Dies
The "most listened to man" in broadcasting passed away Saturday. After more than seven decades on the air, venerable radioman Paul Harvey's folksy speech and plain talk are no more.

Harvey died at the age of 90 at a hospital near his winter home in Phoenix.

His death came nine months after that of his wife, Lynne Cooper Harvey, whom he often called "Angel" on air, and who was also his business partner and the first producer ever inducted in the the Radio Hall of Fame. She died in May 2008 at age 92. ...

Still yet another thought, I would suggest you read the Ankerberg commentary on the SDAs.

Seventh-day Adventism ranges from being Christian to not, It has sprouted strange sects such as the Urantia and Branch Davidians, The SDA doesn't seem to encourage orthodoxy.

The overly complimentary article on Seventh-Day Adventist Church -- Wikipedia hints at the over-emphasis that you the SDA puts on food. The SDA just has too much legalism.

Colossians 2
16 Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day--
17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.---NASB

This sermon is still around by the way, Legalism is Shadow, Christ is Substance.

It appears that you have either been listiening 2 some1 else who thinks they know about the things u mentioned or just that u've misunderstood urself. I know 4 a fact the SDA's do not believe that Ellen White was infallible. They definately don't believe they get 2 heaven THROUGH Ellen White. I am only 28, but have been a SDA my whole life & never once have I heard of anyone ever thinking or believing in such nonsense. We believe as Luthor taught & many of the reformers, Christ & Christ alone, Grace & Grace alone, Bible & Bible alone! Who ever told u otherwise clearly does not know what SDA's teach, believe & practice. Even if it was another so called SDA or former SDA who informed u, they're wrong according 2 the official stance of the Chruch. From what I HAVE STUIED OUT 4 MYSELF, we follow the Bible & the Bible alone. Anything we read even Elen White should be tested by Scripture! So please educate yourself 1st b4 trying to educate others. Read Matt. 12:36 Thank you sir.

i can speak on the behalf of the Adventists I grew up in the old SDA church and I seen things change so much in the church and when they started reading the bible and staying on the teaching of the bible and turned off the teachings of E.G.W and started speaking Christ alone they are not a cult. they are more correct with the concept of the trinity then most off line churches i know of. I'm all for the SDA church because they speak the truth.

John, Paul Harvey, supported Ellen G. White, the cult's prophetess. Unlike the Catholic Church, say by the way, have you listened to, The Doctrine of Apostates yet? You really should Gil does mention the SDA in that, but just a short commentary by John MacArthur on them can be found at, Is the Seventh-Day Adventist religion a cult? -- John MacArthur

John Yurich, you need to educate yourself on other beliefs before you defend them and call them Christian. Adventist refers to the belief that they are the fulfillment of prophecies pertaining to the latter days remnant and the second coming of Christ. From 1844-1851, they taught a shut door doctrine, based on the parable of the 10 virgins. Anyone who hadn't accepted the Advent message was shut out from the kingdom of heaven. SDA do not believe the whole or any part of man is inherently immortal. They believe in soul sleep for the saved {no conscious existence from time of death until resurrection}, and annihilation for the wicked {the body and soul are destroyed rather than experience everlasting torment}. They believe you can only get to heaven when you come to Christ through Ellen G. White {a works program following salvation by grace with light of revelation through E.G.White as the infallible guide to holy scripture}.

Unfortunately, the last ten years of Paul's life he was a Seventh Day Adventist, q.v., The Doctrine of Apostates, so his strange dietary tastes not only left a bitter taste in many people mouths, but could have been the eternal end of him.
The Seventh Day Adventist Church is not a Cult because it acknowledges the Deity Of Jesus and the Holy Trinity and it teaches salvation comes from Justification By Faith In Jesus alone.

But, Mike, that just might determines that he might not be in as hot of spot as some others, but he still will suffer The Great White Throne Judgment, a sad and terrible end for anyone.

Well at least he wasn't RC, right Jim? PS he died at age 90, so maybe his dietary tastes were the right ones, if his religious ones weren't.

Another sad note was how the Muhammadan group CAIR stiffled free speech.

CAIR's Assault on Paul Harvey.

He may very well be in heaven --if he didn't follow The Doctrine of Apostates.

I always did like Harvey. Harvey was a no nonsense communicator. Harvey is in Heaven if he was Born Again.

I listen to Paul Harvey probably all of my life. I suppose what got Nebraskans down, is that he had too many good words for Mormons and especially Seventh Day Adventists, q.v., The Doctrine of Apostates. I think he almost got kicked off a Nebraska station in cattle country, because of his attack on meat eating.

He did not soldier on as well the article said, after his wife died, he wasn't on the air at all, and then only did 2 or 3 programs a week, after that. For as long as he was married, and having his wife die, usually takes a lot out of a man at his age, and no doubt any age at that.
