White House: First Couple Still Looking for Church
WASHINGTON – The White House says Michelle and Barack Obama have visited several churches and will see a few more, but haven't decided on a place to worship.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said the first couple visited a couple of churches around the time of his inauguration. Gibbs said they would like to visit some more and "figure out a congregation in the area that they can worship at."

It is totally superfluous if they have mosques in the D.C. area because Obama is not Muslim.

"In light of economic woes, Gibbs added that Obama probably prays, even if it isn't in a church."

"probably prays" - *EVEN* if not in church!! Wow thats really dedicated eh?

I think Pres. Obama should stick with his good buddy Gene Robinson and attend the Epicopalian church. After all the religion of socialism sits well together with the religion of Liberalism. The social gospel is sooo democratic!

John Y, Just a quick question. Why do you think Jesus got baptisted by John the Baptist. And, why did God in Heaven decide at that very moment in time to recognize His Son on earth. Anyone please feel free to give me their answer. Thanks.
John's baptism was symbolic of the baptism of repentence, not of regeneration as is the baptism in the book of Acts.

But you will say Christ did not need to repent. That is correct, but, He needed to be identified with those whom needed to repent in order to "fulfil all righteousness". This was characterised with Jesus identiying himself as the bronze snake on Moses's pole in Numbers 21:4-9. Christ being identified with the serpent who would bear the curse for us. Christ is identified with sinful man in the baptism of repentence. Those who were placed "in Christ" by God the Father are united with Christ at the beginning of His ministry, His life of active and passive obedience. Therefore, those who are identified "in Christ" receive the merits of His obedience and death. And then the baptism in the N.T. is our confession of being identified with Christ in His death and the reception of His gifts.

Just a guess - but, would it be the transferring of the old Levitical priesthood to the new? The old priesthood being through the tribe of Levi, and now the new being through the tribe of Judah - as was prophesied of the Messiah? Like in the O.T. the passing of the mantle of Elijah to Elisha, or Moses to Joshua.

I hear OJ is still looking for the "real killers," too. I won't hold my breath for either quest.

I am not involved in Doctrinal Compromise because I believe that salvation is by Justification By Faith in Jesus alone. Baptism, the Sacraments and church membership are all totally superfluous to salvation.

he believers in the church at Ephesus are condemned by Christ for losing their love for Him. Their love had cooled and they have waned in their devotion to Him....Christ's commands to correct their behavior and conduct were threefold. They were to be remembering, to repent and do....
They were to repent, calling for an immediate change with no excuses. Having repented they were do immediately the deeds or works they had done at first. What this love had done at first was hear the Word of God, delight in it, meditate on it and taking it to heart, put it into action by doing what it said. What believers do in genuine obedience and acceptable service is driven by love for God, and being so becomes a pattern or lifestyle.

Well maybe not as easy as your linked post would suggest Mr. Jim. I din't find the word repent or repentance even mentioned. Sorry but without the truth, you don't really have the truth.
The linked article also seemed to poorly represented other doctinal issues.
Acts 17:30-31

So it isn't as "easy" as you wrote. I don't know about Obama's intention or others, but only that this linked article certainly wasn't "the" answer. I do usually follow your links, and consider what is said.

John Y.~ your misconceptions continue...your loyalty to a denomination has clouded your ability to reason. The Baptist denomination is just as sin-infested as all the others. The running joke is 'SBC-slowly becoming Catholic'. For example, Bill Clinton claims to be a Southern Baptist, as does Al Gore, and Jimmy Carter {although he now has 'distanced himself from them}. I almost forgot to mention the 'pride and joy' of the SBC...Rick Warren.

Please lose the RCC thinking, the true church of Jesus Christ is not any denomination, it is a body of believers from all walks of life, following the Lamb in obedience to His word.

It isn't about loyalty to a denomination {i.e., 'I'm a Baptist, I'm a Presbyterian', etc} it's all about being born from above. Only God can save lost sinners, not based on 'denomination', but on His grace. Instead of hoping Obama becomes a 'Baptist', pray God will save his soul.
