United Nations' threat: No more parental rights
A United Nations human rights treaty that could prohibit children from being spanked or homeschooled, ban youngsters from facing the death penalty and forbid parents from deciding their families' religion is on America's doorstep, a legal expert warns.

Michael Farris of Purcellville, Va., is president of ParentalRights.org, chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association and chancellor of Patrick Henry College. He told WND that under the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, or CRC, every decision a parent makes can be reviewed by the government to determine whether it is in the child's best interest.

"It's definitely on our doorstep," he said. "The left wants to make the Obama-Clinton era permanent. Treaties are a way to make it as permanent as stuff gets. It is very difficult to extract yourself from a treaty once you begin it. If they can put all of their left-wing socialist ...

California judges, well most of them anyway, would welcome the treaty with open arms--Homeschooling numbers climb 36% since 2003.

"A United Nations human rights treaty that could prohibit children from being spanked or homeschooled, ban youngsters from facing the death penalty and forbid parents from deciding their families' religion is on America's doorstep"

The "Lefty" Liberal UN, (like the EU) has been dominated by the left agenda for years now. They have been on the trail of spanking and curtailing authority in the home and family for years too. Just as anti-discrimination law means remove all authority moral and ethical standards in society, - then they have tried to control the mind of the parent also.

For Big Brother read UN
For PC "Big Brother" read Big Genderless biped.

This sort of puerile nonsense is in the same league as don't call female parent mummy!

Are the chromosomes of polititions shuffled or something?

*The 1990s-era document was ratified quickly by 193 nations worldwide, but not the United States or Somalia. *

Seems the article is more about Michael Farris and WND than the treaty.

Michael Farris is the best!

Almost pathetically, amusing. In Western countries where one might say at times, e.g., you can't spank children in Sweden, they have no rights in Muhammadan countries, where minor girls are sold to men, for wives! (The Inadequacy of Islam) Billy Clinton's was disaster in many ways, such as giving away rocket guidance system information to the Chinese, and this obnoxious UN idea was and is another. SermonAudio put up an interesting article, which was somewhat aimed at home schoolers, q.v., Encouraging and supporting Christian families who educate their children at home.
