Have Charles Darwin’s theories made any difference to our lives?
What has Charles Darwin done for you? Do you feel better or worse for the news that a gibbon is your close cousin? Do you even believe it, deep down? Some folk certainly don’t.
At the Creation Museum in Kentucky you can view a nonDarwinian 6,000-year history of the world from the Garden of Eden until now. About 50% of Americans believe this is exactly how it happened.
To them, Darwin – with his mad ideas about millions of years of slow evolutionary change – was a prophet of contemporary, secular delusions, perhaps even a foreshadower of the end-time when God will return in judgment.
“Darwinism,” says Dr David Menton of Answers in Genesis, which built the Creation Museum, “is what you have once you have denied the existence of God.”...
“Darwinism,” says Dr David Menton of Answers in Genesis, which built the Creation Museum, “is what you have once you have denied the existence of God.” ... That pretty much says it all in a nutshell, we all know what the bible says about non-belief. I will include all those "Darwinists" in a prayer for their awakening to the truth, the light, and the way.
A species of Pink Iguana has been discovered which creates a dating contradiction for the Galapagos Islands. Hence for over a century now, scientists have, in effect, been lying about the age of the Islands and/or the descent of the Galapagos iguana.
So as with numerous other cases, one must ask, do we really know any more now after this correction of the "facts of science?" Maybe there's yet another undiscovered species or geological feature which will spoil this corrected story. If a "fact" is liable to change, then it is not a fact, but only a hypothesis.
Now to be fair, the original researchers often point this out in their white papers, but over time, hypotheses "evolve" into "facts" as they get repeated by non-expert popularizers, and are rarely challenged by the experts because it suits their purposes.
Have Charles Darwin’s theories made any difference to our lives?
Yes! They've made me want to have a barf bag handy whenever I happen to pass through a room where something like "Animal Planet" is on TV and they throw out one of their evolutionary conclusions as if it was science.
