A low pressure front is moving into the area from across the Plains on Friday that is expected to impact New York City and the surrounding tri-state area on Saturday. The strong system will move closer to our area overnight Friday, and precipitation will gradually work its way in through the late morning and early afternoon hours.
CBS 2 HD's Lonnie Quinn says we should all expect thickening clouds early Saturday before a light snow begins to fall, turning heavier as the day progresses.
"It looks like this will be the biggest snowstorm so far this season for New York City," Quinn said.
Total snow accumulations from this system will range from a foot in the northern and western suburbs and interior Connecticut to 5-7 inches in New York City....
