Teacher belittles soldiers child for supporting McCain
Asheville ‚Äď A former city schools teacher filmed in a Swedish documentary talking about politics in the classroom is drawing fire from bloggers for ‚Äúbelittling‚ÄĚ a student who supported Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
Diantha Harris of Fayetteville teaches fifth grade in Cumberland County.
She left Asheville in 2004. Bloggers on Thursday had identified her as an Asheville teacher and said she ‚Äúwillingly browbeat and belittle a student in class for her choice of a presidential candidate,‚ÄĚ according to Tundra Tabloids, a blog about Islamic extremism.
Harris, in an interview today with the Asheville Citizen-Times, said that’s not true....
This is not new. Only the ability to record such events is. My older sister, who was in high school from 1969 to 1972, told me years ago of events in her history class where the liberal-democratic teacher would routinely joust with and mock one of the few openly conservative kids in the class.
Don't know what became of the teacher but, years later, that same kid went on to became a successful business owner and was even elected insurance commissioner for the state of CA back in the 1980s.
This kid was Catholic, too, but for some reason opted for public school over Catholic school (money?).

Amen to that. Private schools whether they are Catholic, Protestant or Jewish are better then public schools because they teach morality whereas public schools teach amorality and immorality. When I get married and have children I am going to send them to Catholic parochial school so they are taught morality.
