Pope Benedict has said he is seriously considering halting the process of making his predecessor Pope Pius XII a saint until historical archives can be opened.
Some Jewish leaders have accused Pius, who was head of the Catholic Church during WWII, of turning a blind eye to the Nazi Holocaust.
However, the Vatican says he quietly helped to save many Jews from certain death. Mark Worthington reports.
