Free Presbyterian advert ignites fresh anti-gay storm
The Advertising Standards Authority is investigating whether an advertisement placed by the Kirk Session of the Sandown Free Presbyterian Church in a Northern Ireland newspaper ahead of the Gay Pride Parade last week breached advertising codes.

The 540-word advertisement, which described homosexuality as an abomination, defined homosexuals as perverts and called on religious followers to maintain a very public stance against the gay community despite recent violent homophobic attacks, was placed in the News Letter on Friday, August 1, the day before the annual event.

In the advertisement, the church — led by the Rev David McIlveen — justifies its hostility towards the gay community by ‘quoting’ from the Bible and lambasts the need for a parade which celebrates a “profitable lifestyle”. ...

Lance, What in the former RCCr's comment justifies you saying 'he would like to think that, it would ease his conscience'? Are you that 'in love' with your church that you would DEFY the Holy Word of God, and defend perversion within your own church walls? Do you not know the greatest commandment given BY Jesus Christ Himself from Matthew 22:37 as He quotes Deuteronomy 6:5, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with ALL thy heart, with ALL thy soul, and with ALL thy mind". Yet, you love church 'tradition' over Christ's teachings. Do you not know if you do not stand firm in God's word, then you are guilty of condoning whatever you overlook, ignore, or cover up? In this case, homosexuality.

What you really mean is that you would like to think that. It would help ease your conscience.

No, as A Former Roman Catholic, I was NOT wickedly abused by a pedophile/sexually-perverted priest, nun or "layman";

However, I do believe that about 90% of The Roman "Catholic" Priesthood are Sodomites; both psychologically & physically.

The very seeds & antecedents of "Homo-sexuality" are VERY Evident in Their "Theology", Philosophy, Way of Life and Mode of Living.

I am only surprised that The Roman "Catholic" Cult is NOT Being Sued For BILLIONS or TRILLION$; instead of The Million$ that we are seeing/witnessing TODAY (as Chicago's Roman "Catholic" Archdiocese Settled A Lawsuit This Afternoon for about a Dozen-Million Dollars) !

I do HIGHLY Commend The Free Presbyterian Church -- led by the Rev. David McIIveen -- For Their 540-word advertisement, which described Homo-sexuality as an ABOMINATION, defined Homo-sexuals as PERVERTS and called on Religious followers to maintain a VERY Public Stance AGAINST the Sodomite Community despite recent violent "homo-phobic" attacks: that appeared in the News Letter on Friday, August 1, 2008.

I can still vividly remember my Roman "Catholic" childhood; and my older Brother John telling me about the things his friend, Ricky Sacramento, told him: about demons & devils appearing to him (Ricky); and his (Ricky's) sexual promiscuity.

Jeremiah 23:14 'I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants tehreof as Gomorrah." Praise God there are those who will rightly divide the Word of God that sinners might be convinced by the Spirit of God of sin, judgment and righteousness (Lord Jesus Christ). How will they hear without a preacher? The Word posted is preaching the Word to an evil and adulterous generation. May God be pleased to return His Word unto salvation or condemnation, such as seems right in His eyes. Do not be afraid of their faces..

Beam...

If we all looked at our own sin and allowed that to disqulaify us from preaching against a sinful world none of us would utter a word of scripture beyond our own front door.

We are all wretched sinners, if you went to a Free Presbytarian Church you would understand that is their starting point.

They preach repentance not because they are righteous, not out of condemnation but out of Love, out of compassion for sinners, they want to see people repent and put their trust in Jesus.

By standing for God they show Love.

I agree that Sin must be preached against, BUT...
from some of the goings on in the Free Presbyterian Church, it seems that the FPC needs to begin looking at the beam in their own eye...

Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

James 1:6b-8"For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."

No it isn't, Jim. Homosexual behavior is a mortal sin. Period.

Max, you and Tony are completely correct about homosexuality.
Romans 1
26For this cause God gave them up unto vile passions: for their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature: 27and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working unseemliness, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was due.
...The Bible Says Homosexuality is Sin.

The Roman Catholic Church is schizophrenic when it comes to homosexuality because so many of their priests are homosexual. Max, as well know, the Catholics in Northern Ireland are not only tolerant -- and physical violence against these perverts should never be used, there absolutely no reason to give them a legal status there or for that matter, in the USA.

It's a little ironic that the catholics turn out in force, petrol bomb and riot against God fearing Protestant marches but go shopping and drink Cappucinos while sodomites mock and taunt God through their pathetic attempts to sanitise their filth through 'PRIDE'.

Let's all take our lead from the Free Presbytarians.

"For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12.
Is it normal for a man to attempt to read with his ear, or listen with his nose, or smell with his foot? What then is normal about sodomy?
