World's largest confessional staged in Sydney
SYDNEY (Reuters) - At most outdoor festivals the longest queues are generally for the portable toilets and bar but at World Youth Day in Sydney, the Catholic Church's version of Woodstock, one of the biggest queues is for confessing sins.

With some 300,000 young Catholic pilgrims attending WYD from July 15-20 the Church is staging the world's largest confessional, with more than 1,000 priests at anyone time hearing sins and dispensing penance at 250 locations.

How would you know, since your not saved yourself? If you are not born again yourself, you certainly can't tell anyone else what it takes to be born again.

You are not born again, because you believe a different gospel with a false christ, which is not according to the Scripture. If you were, you would leave your institution immediately, and stop promoting the nonsense, because it is in opposition to God's Word.

Enough already is right, the Chick tract contains the Word of God and the Biblical gospel, which is the power of God to salvation. Romans 1:16

Excellent truth Engineer, "Therefore come out from them and be separate" says the Lord "Touch no unclean thing and I will receive you" 2 Corinthians 6:17. One cannot sit under doctrines of demons and claim Christ.
Lance, you said VA Reader cannot be saved by a Chick tract; but what you failed to see is what the tract contained, the WORD of GOD, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me" John 14:6. By this powerful truth, God opened the spiritual ears and eyes of VA Reader and granted understanding, removing the heart of stone and giving in its place a heart of flesh {a fresh heart}. It was the content of the tract that saved, the word of God, which is living and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword. You are in grave danger when you claim God's word cannot save. May the Lord grant you this understanding, and open your spiritual ears and eyes to His truth.

"Except a man be born again, he CANNOT see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3).

Indeed there are many Roman Catholics who, in spite of their beliefs, looks past it all and reach out by faith to the living Saviour. Oh yes, such accept Christ as their personal Saviour, are born again and leave the old life behind. Such we call "converted former Roman Catholics."

But the question here is are there any saved Roman Catholics? That is, being a saved person and remaining in Roman Catholicism.

Just as you cannot mix fire and water, neither can one be a saved person and remain a faithful Roman Catholic. What is more, this would be directly against the official teaching of Rome: One who would dare to consider himself, or herself, saved (that is, certain of heaven), being a devout Roman Catholic commits one of the gravest sins--the sin of presumption.

Truly, many Roman Catholics, in spite of it all, have accepted Christ into their hearts, their lives--bUT..."
Are Some Roman Catholics Saved?

The Jack Chick message above is apropos.

Lance- Pray to the Holy Spirit? You don't understand the work of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, and empowers believers over sin, teaching them the ways of the Lord. Where in scripture are we told to pray to the Holy Spirit?
Is it disturbing to you that God saved VA reader from the cult of roman catholicism? Isn't it more like 'another got away' mentality on your part? Lance, do you read the word of God for yourself, praying to Him and asking for understanding? Or do you just assume the teachings of the RCC are all that is needed? I urge you to cry out to God, with your whole heart and an open mind, seeking HIS wisdom...after all...only HE can save.

Hmmm...

Apostle James says "Confess your faults one to another..."

I wonder if the priests will be confessing to the laity.

"I see that his Unholiness has decided to bless Australia, "
The country needs his blessing like it needs more taxes.

I for one took very little notice of the whole charade. What was noticeable, however, was the way the pope himself, and the media (most of its journos are militant atheists - but ex-Catholics) talked about "Christians" and "Catholics" as convertible terms. Evangelical Protestants (the real ones) are for both parties beyond the pale. This I found the most objectionable thing about it all.

I am a Catholic - I believe the article of the Apostles' Creed about "the Holy, Catholic Church", but I am not a ROMAN Catholic (an oxymoron anyway).

I see that his Unholiness has decided to bless Australia, by finally leaving it. Some parents of abused children, did not get their wish to see the Pope. His Unholiness is smart enough to avoid confrontations. He wants to be worshiped as the cult leader that he is.

C.H. Spurgeon wrote:
Christ did not redeem his church with his blood that the pope might come in and steal away the glory. He never came from heaven to earth, and poured out his very heart that he might purchase his people, that a poor sinner, a mere man, should be set upon high to be admired by all the nations, and to call himself God's representative on earth. Christ has always been the Head of the church.
Christian and Catholics -- never together!

Those born into God's family can go straight to God's throne to receive forgiveness for their sins:

"I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. " Psalm 32:5
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
David confessed his sins to God when he prayed:
"Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me." Psalm 51:2-3
True Christians have access to God' s throne:
"Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus..." Hebrews 10:19
Go straight to the throne of God for forgiveness:
"Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?" Mark 2:7
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" 1 Timothy 2:5

"Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD...If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee..."Ps.130:1-4
