Anglican bishops in secret Vatican summit
They met senior advisers of the Pope in an attempt to build closer ties with the Roman Catholic Church, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt.

Dr Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, was not told of the talks and the disclosure will be a fresh blow to his efforts to prevent a major split in the Church of England.

In highly confidential discussions, a group of conservative bishops expressed their dismay at the liberal direction of the Church of England and their fear for its future.

"Senior Church of England bishops have held secret talks with Vatican officials to discuss the crisis in the Anglican communion over gays and women bishops."

Sounds like a positive statement doesn't it.

On the Radio this morning they stated that they were not quite sure what to do just now and would be waiting till February, (Code of Practice published)

AND.....
"Traditionalists in England are also facing new schism within their ranks, with disagreements from leading bishops over whether to transfer allegiance to Rome or to remain in a Church that ordains women to the episcopate." (Times)

AND...
"He was comforted by other church leaders on the floor of the General Synod in York as its 468 members took a major step towards women becoming bishops, with just an unwritten statutory code of practice to cater for those who firmly believe the Bible teaches that bishops must be male, as Jesus and his apostles were." (Telegraph)

Perhaps, my dear EA, your view of the situation is skewed a bit by your blind hatred and ignorance of what is evidently too high for your senses to grasp. All reasonable men know that less than 2% of all American Catholic priests had anything to do with the recent pedophile scandal, those priests that were accused of wrong-doing were removed from dealing with children, those found guilty went to jail, others were released from the priesthood. I say, if there is proof that a priest or a bishop is guilty...take them both to jail...today!!! The only voice defending sin is in your narrow mind. The notion that the RCC must read and understand Church disipline by Prot standards is ludicrous.
Your deluded defense of the RCC scandal makes you a co-conspirator with them. It looks like the Attorney General of Massachusettes was on board as well. See how many they put in jail as you say. Check it out if you wish. What an outstanding testimony of the "morality" of Rome. 2% yea right!

GG, Insulting my intelligence just proves your lack of. Where might I find your 'numbers'? Is this information only available to those caught in the RCC's web of deceit? All that was done was a 'shuffling' of pedophiles, until the numbers grew so massive, this was no longer possible. Not to worry, money talks! Do you not know that you can buy your way out of ANYTHING, if you have the money to do so. That's why any figures you may toss out are inaccurate, your precious apostate denomination has covered the dirty tracks left by the sodomites you call priests.
Your lack of biblical knowledge shows, God commands the body of Christ to discipline sin with the TRUE church, {this isn't any 'prot' propaganda, it is common knowledge to those who love His word} which is why you are oblivious to this command. You insist on defending your denomination, even though it opposes sound doctrine. May God open your blind eyes and calloused heart, before it is too late and you step into outer darkness.
BTW, those who truly love Christ hate what He hates, and trust me, God hates homosexuality.
You really are to be pitied, you have no idea just how lost you really are. May God be merciful to you.

My, G.G., you should also read, The Road Back to Rome, I'm of course talking about the introduction though the excellent Dabney article also follows, for Christians, Christian and Catholics -- never together!. As far as homosexuality in the Catholic priesthood is concerned, this where the "don't ask, don't tell" policy originated. Hand of God.

GG
How come we ended up talking about your club on here and its paedopriests??? Do you think this is an omen of things to come? Perhaps the anglicans are going to take over the Vatican.

BTW The anglican conservatives, - You shouldn't encourage them to join the antichrist's heretical fraternity, that would be changing one unholy horse for another.

GG, as usual, you did NOT read the posts of Dr. Phil or myself accurately. Again, if you all were the 'true' church, you would practice church discipline as instructed by Almighty God in accordance with His word. Re-read the last line of my prior post...

Dr P and EA continue to play the 'I'm Holier than thou' card. The reason is not because they are in fact holier, but rather they see themselves in competition for warm-bodies with the RCC. With them it's just good old fashioned competitiveness and not morality. If it were, they would remember the frailty of man and not be so quick to judge, when their own pastors could be just as guilty. Catholicism has paid a big price for 'Princes of the Church' who wink at wrong-doing. The Catholic Layman is not willing to bank-roll 'Sodom and Gomorrah'...just ask them. The Pope has asked for forgiveness on this issue and I trust that he will be faithful to bring this blyte on our honor to an end. But, if not...we laymen will certainly ask why not! For y'all to point to our mote, is to ignore your own timber! Therefore, the hypocracy is yours alone!

I must admit, I have never heard a more hypocritical statement than that made by GG, 'permitting active homosexuals into their clergy'. The Roman Catholic Church does it all day long, everyday; yet GG and others 'overlook' the abominations within their own denomination. This certainly is not just an RCC problem, but at least true born again believers will not cover up sin, going against God's authoritative word, for the sake of 'sacred tradition'. If one has a clear understanding on the holiness of God, and how He hates- to the uttermost- sin, there would be NO overlooking what's going on in the RCC, and other denominations as well. Only a fool would defend and try to justify sin of any type.

Really? Well the homosexual pedophile priests are sure welcomed with open arms and all of the political muscle that Rome can put together continues to protect them. What difference does the horse's color make?

Beautifully put, Minnow! True Protestants Will Not Be Fooled By The Double-Speak Of The Hail Mary Brigade Of Anglican Ecumenists. It is always Christian and Catholics -- never together!. Anglicans who wish to practice Christianity can't do so, because of The Doctrine of Apostates. They have only one choice get out of the Anglican Church and start attending a Bible-believing one.

The 39 Articles of Faith include

XIX. Of the Church.
"The visible Church of Christ is a congregation of faithful men, in which the pure Word of God is preached, and the Sacraments be duly ministered according to Christ's ordinance, in all those things that of necessity are requisite to the same.

As the Church of Jerusalem, Alexandria, and Antioch, have erred, so also the Church of *ROME* hath erred, not only in their living and manner of Ceremonies, but also in matters of Faith."

XXII. Of Purgatory.
"The Romish Doctrine concerning Purgatory, Pardons, Worshipping and Adoration, as well of Images as of Relics, and also Invocation of Saints, is a fond thing, vainly invented, and grounded upon no warranty of Scripture, but rather repugnant to the Word of God."

Obviously both the Scriptures and their own Articles of Faith no longer count to this so called church.
___________
And get this statement by one Bishop
"There can be no future for Christianity in Europe without Rome."
