Colorado's new state law that was based on the apparent belief that free speech rights are not unalienable and they sometimes must be restricted is scaring residents who now fear expressing their opinions in public.
"This desire to limit the constitutionally guaranteed right to the 'free exercise of religion' can be seen in Cathryn Hazouri's, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, testimony given before the Colorado House Judiciary Committee," according to Colorado Family Action.
"One may practice one's religion in private; however, once a religious person comes into the public arena, there are limitations in how the expression of their religion impacts others," she had said....
The Govt, in particular the Govt of Colorado, should stop and take heed. The Declaration of Independence says that all Govt derives its right to rule from the consent of the governed. The US Constitution restricts the Govt from denying our right to worship God as we see fit or to express ourselves as a free people. The last Govt that abused our rights got it's nose slapped...the next one might not fare so well!
`TIS MARGINALIZING:imples BIGOTS belong in CHURCH! one prominent attorney regarding Colorado's anti-Christian censorship law SB200: "I do believe that the Bible is banned, under the plain language of this new statute." SB200 outrageously turns being a pastor into an affirmative defense! Primary focus: SB200 is government censorship of Christian teaching against co-habitation and immorality Second: unacceptable forced hiring of and renting to those cohabitating and those practicing a homosexual lifestyle Third: the bathroom issue is real, that male predators, etc., will attempt to use this law to enter women's bathrooms, but sadly, this real threat is one of the least of the Act's wicked influences Note: state legislators intentionally denied citizens the ability to repeal SB200 at the ballot by including the Section 41 Safety Clause in that the Colorado Secretary of State's Referendum Guidelines say, "A referendum petition may not be filed... against legislative acts that contain a 'safety clause' declaring that the act is 'necessary for the immediate preservation of public peace, health, or safety.'" " NO "peace, health, or safety" for Christians
