The report, the U.S. Religious Landscape Survey, reveals a broad trend toward tolerance and an ability among many Americans to hold beliefs that might contradict the doctrines of their professed faiths.
For example, 70 percent of Americans affiliated with a religion or denomination said they agreed that “many religions can lead to eternal life,” including majorities among Protestants and Catholics. Among evangelical Christians, 57 percent agreed with the statement, and among Catholics, 79 percent did.
Among minority faiths, more than 80 percent of Jews, Hindus and Buddhists agreed with the statement, and more than half of Muslims did....
Where does this theory square with 1John 5:11-13? Truth, it does not. It makes not difference what others may say, the Word of G-d says: JESUS (John14:6) is the only way to eternal salvation/life. This is just a move to universalism, a lie from the devil. The only way to eternity is through fiath in the Son of G-d Yehoshua, HIS atoning shed sinless blood. JESUS, without HIM you can do nothing!
John 14 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me. Acts 4 12 And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.
Matthew 7 13 Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. 14 For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.
Today there are so many distortions of THE TRUTH ... ReLiGiOn has taken hold and they dictate to the people the meaning of GOD'S WORD ... lies abound, but GOD CAN MAKE GOOD of all this mess !!!
Men have picked through GOD'S WORD choosing the verses they like and ignoring the verses they don't like !!!
This past Sunday at Church a sermon was given on Col 1:15-23 and again GOD'S WORD was watered down to accommodate the ReLiGiOuS embelishments of the Baptist ReLiGiOn
Verse 23 is the hinge verse !!!
KJ 23) **If** ye CONTINUE in the faith grounded and settled, and BE NOT MOVED AWAY FROM the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; ...
Amp 23) [And this He will do] provided that you CONTINUE to stay with and in the faith ["IN" Christ], well-grounded and settled and steadfast, NOT SHIFTING OR MOVING AWAY FROM the hope [which rests on and is inspired by] the glad tidings (the Gospel), which you heard and which has been preached [as being designed for and offered without restrictions] to every person under heaven, ...
Man IS RESPONSIBLE -- he MUST CONTINUE IN THE FAITH ["IN" Christ] AND BE NOT MOVED AWAY FROM THE TRUTH !!!
"My faith". That's the problem. This "faith" they're talking about is not from God, but from themselves, and is therefore no better than anyone elses. If it were from God it would be exclusive (Acts 4:12).
When Jesus said "your faith has saved you", as he does a number of times, he could not possibly be referring to the "faith" spoken of in this article, but that from Ephesians 2:8-9
"For example, 70 percent of Americans affiliated with a religion or denomination said they agreed that “many religions can lead to eternal life,”"
Some form of universalism has always been around in history. In today's religious culture we can observe not only the Liberal views but also a human emotional response to the question of who gets saved. I suppose mans instinct for survival is inclusive, or he may doubt his own eternity.
After all it has been taught and is still taught......
"Such avowed Protestants as Karl Barth and William Barclay also embrace universalism, one on the grounds that all are condemned in Christ's death but accepted in His resurrection, the other on the basis of the alleged universal Fatherhood of God and the universal scope of the Love of God in Christ.
Suffice to say that Holy Scripture expressly teaches the salvation of only the elect (Eph 1; Rom 9), and clearly implies that few will be saved (Luke 13.23-24; Isa 1.9). Along with Radical Universalism we must therefore reject Liberal Universalism." (Banner of Truth. J M Brentnall)
What do you expect when so called "Fundamentalists" such as John Hagee teach that Jews don't need Christ since they have their own deal with God? This is the same nonsense that Papists used to call "Baptism by Desire" as a way around John 14:6. The Puritan, Reformed, Protestant, Covenant Theology was and remains the only true understanding of God's Salvation plan as found in Scripture. Any deviation from that hermaneutic position, be it Popery, Pentecostalism, Adventism (in all it's "Left Behind" silliness), or extreme Christian Zionism is Christologically weak and rife with error. Salvation is by Grace ALONE, through Faith ALONE, in Christ ALONE, as revealed in Scripture ALONE, for God's Glory ALONE. If you can't understand this, believe it, and live it, pray for God's intervention because you are headed straight to hell, no matter what brand of "Christian" you believe yourself to be.
Without a one-world quasi religion, there CANNOT be a one-world government.
With truth like 'Jesus is the only way,' this global pantheistic religion cannot come to full fruition. One of these two premises must be eradicated. Either Jesus' atonement for man's fall must go, or man's vain hope of a united brotherhood of Luciferianism.
Gary Kah's book, En Route to Global Occupation, comes to mind. Written in 1991 or 1992, he laid out quite nicely how ancient Babylonian religions provided the basis for Kabala-ism, Gnosticism, Free-masonry (which gave birth to Mormonisn, Jehovah's Witness), and later to the ever prevalent and ubiquitous New-Age-ism.
If you go to video.google.com and search for Gary Kah, there are three 2008 speeches available. I don't agree 100% with everything he says but close to it.
I have learned throughout the years that each of our paths to discover TRUTH is a piecemeal effort of examining many different sources. Knowing the Holy Bible (KJV) FIRST must take precedence, however.
Walter Veith also has a video called Secrets of Secret Societies (among many others) on google.
