Religious Left Gaining Prominence in U.S. Politics
For decades, when Americans talked about faith and politics the phrase “religious right” came to mind. But the country’s political landscape is changing and now the “religious left” is re-emerging to play a prominent role in U.S. politics, observed one of the country’s foremost experts on faith and politics.

John Green, senior fellow in Religion and American Politics at the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, contends the religious right no longer plays the “dominant role” in America’s faith-based politics in a Pew Forum interview posted on Thursday.

Instead, the religious left has, in some sense, replaced the religious right in being the prominent voice for faith voters. ...

Mark M. from Georgia said: "... if you can afford internet access and a computer in order read my post, then most likely you make too much money to qualify for any of the endless programs that you will be taxed for."

Yes, and you should be happy about that. Wasn't that the whole idea of solidarity, care for the poor and share with those in need?
Sounds pretty biblical to me...

I'm not American but from having lived here since 3 years I can see you guys have a HUGE problem with health care, poverty, divide rich/poor, education, equal opportunities etc. From my perspective, those problems would be better addressed by a Democrat.

And the law of the land, Tony, is what now??

By the way, you still think Saturday has some special meaning? Oh yeah, I believe you're also an "unknown tongue hubba-bubba clucker." You still got that spirit in you? How about that beard? Still shaving it off?

Let me know.

Maybe we can then discuss some more of your Satanic/Vaticanist doctrines.

The "religious right" really didn't have any credibility from the beginning in the first place--they were only the (Political) "Pharisees" that got involved in American Politics; which was basically influenced MORE by the "religious left" and/or the (Political) "Sadducees".

Skull&Bones Bush and Has-been-NIXON-Watergate-Crook Cheney were frauds & liars from The BEGINNING--as Was Richard Nixon's & George H.W. Bush's CIA-[FBI]-MOB-VATICAN involvement in The ASSASSINATION of President J.F.K. back in 1963--

But The BIGGEST Crook & TREASONOUS Traitor of Them ALL was RONALD REAGAN--

Who Sold-Out The U.S. Constitution by Re-Establishing Diplomatic Ties with The Satanic Anti-American Roman Vatican in 1983 !

As The Satanic-Vatican now has been given Political Legitimacy by A United States of America; whose Constitution(al) LAW Strictly Forbids The Marriage of The POLITICAL with The ECCLESIASTICAL (Church&State): and whose BILL OF RIGHTS Legislates a SEPARATION OF The CIVIL POLITIC from a Political-Ecclesiastical ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION !

U.S. DIPLOMATIC TIES WITH THE VATICAN MUST BE SEVERED IMMEDIATELY, FORTHWITH & NOW !

how can one define that which is indefinable? The left, most of whom are relativist post-mods, say there is no absolute truth, law. So they themselves cannot define themselves. They are self-emprisioned by that falseness which they have chosen to serve.

I would agree that Obama is the greater of the two evils, and as such, I do concede that McCain should get the vote. A vote for a third party candidate is actually a vote for the eventual winner, which will not be that third party guy (or a non-vote). In Novemeber I will probably be voting McCain, but I won't be smiling about it.

The popularity of Obama only proves to me how ready the world is for the anti-christ's appearance.

Daniel 11:21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

Mark M., politically and officially I'm an Independent, so I think I can ask I can ask the question fairly, do you want to be worse off, during the next four years? I can guarantee you that will happen if Obama gets in, no guarantees for the other fellow. Should we had more atomic power plants built after 9/11, I would give that a resounding yes, should at least hybrid cars have been encouraged after 9/11 with tax incentives, again a resounding yes--but then I don't have much to say about that, as I've said, "Man proposes, God disposes." Rendering To Caesar: A Biblical Perspective On Government.
Winston Churchill wrote:

a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

The reason the religious right has lost credibility is that they supported everything George W. Bush did - with NO questions asked. Bush\Cheney have now been unmasked as frauds and liars - and many Christians look like idiots for having unreservedly supported these two criminals.

I agree with the Adams quote and I think an Obama led U.S. government will be more liberal, and more tax and spend, than anything we have seen in a long time. I'm being sarcastic here, but not too much, in stating that if you can afford internet access and a computer in order read my post, then most likely you make too much money to qualify for any of the endless programs that you will be taxed for. In fairness, we had six years where the Republicans could have mandated that certain things happen, but instead did what amounts to nothing, except make things worse if you want to go that route. Today's Republicans are not neccesarily conservative. I say again that I wish we had a "good" conservative candidate, but we do not.

I like those biblical verses, Minnow, but apparently you can't legislate morality -- if the majority of the people, or the army isn't behind you.

You had better hope that their is turning aside from evil and repentance in both our countries. But,

John Adams wrote:
Ideologically, democracies regress to mob rule, in which the current opinion of the masses becomes the guiding principle. Economically, democracies self-destruct when citizens discover they can vote themselves the public funds in the form of endless government-funded entitlement programs.

Everything will self-destruct until Christ returns.

"Green noted that it’s somewhat difficult to define the religious left because it is a highly diverse group. But he suggested that it is composed mostly of people with “liberal” perspectives on theology and political issues...."

Everything is going to the "LIBERAL" anti-Biblical, heretical, UNorthodox left. Social gospel instead of the Word of God. Removal of the law that abominations become legal. Modern ideologies in lieu of Bible doctrines.
These people are not real Christians.
The reason why they gain prominence is because the true Church declines.

Mark 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

Proverbs 29:16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

And don't forget the warning.....

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Now that the Democrats & Republicana have named their candidates...let´s see how Obama & McCain define their religious faith accordingly. Left..Center..Right...based on Biblical principles or according to populist morals. terv. davey
