Ecumenical meeting marks first time Mormons join in papal gathering
NEW YORK (CNS) -- For the first time, representatives of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints participated in a papal prayer service -- and it all started over coffee.

In an interview with Catholic News Service and other reporters before the start of the ecumenical prayer service at St. Joseph's Church in New York April 18, Father James Massa, executive director of the U.S. bishops' Secretariat of Ecumenical and Interrreligious Affairs, said that during a coffee break at a recent meeting a representative of the Latter-day Saints asked him if there was any possibility of their participation in the papal visit.

"My reaction was, 'Why not?' We have shared values and there is a possibility of collaboration on a number of social issues while respecting our theological differences," he said. ...

brother Michael, you omitted so-called evangelical Christians (Bush, etc.) from your list of those bending the knee. Except for a small part, America just like all of the other nations is dead spiritually. What will it take for us to admit and acknowledge it.

Mormons, no matter if they say, “We're Christians just like you!” They and the Catholic Church are both cults, Counterfeit
Christianity
and Roman Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses.

Indeed much is happening. Muslims, Jews and now the Mormons bending their knee to the pope coming ever closer to being under the absolute authority of the man of sin, the son of perdition.

Hold fast brethren to the faith once delivered to the saints. Purge out even the smallest lump of Romanist leaven that we might be an unleavened lump.

This is just one more 'sign' of the season we are in. All religions will unite for the sake of love and tolerance, thus setting up the one world religion {These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength to the beast-Rev. 17:13}. We do not know the exact day or hour of the return of Christ, but we certainly can know the season. "Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it that ye do not discern this time?" Luke 12:56 The recent earthquake we had here in the Midwest Friday morning immediately brought to mind Matt. 24:7. The rioting in parts of the world over food shortages is another indication of the end of the age, as well as skyrocketing gas prices. All this greed will be the demise of men who are lovers of themselves. Micheal said, "Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!" To this I say AMEN! Even so, come Lord Jesus!

Wow!!! This is getting more and more interesting. God graciously allowed me to learn how all the false religions in the world eventually will come together in Roman Catholicism or at least in cooperation with Rome and under her umbrella (authority) and here is yet another example of this happening in our time!

Wow!!! We might not know the day nor the hour of Christ's appearing but with things such as these that were until recently unheard of going on His appearing must be quickly drawing near.

Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!

Mormons...abit bruised? Interesting that if you follow the doctrines of the original Mormons coming down to the fundamental Mormons of polygamy and the multiply splits..to how they thought about the origins of God the Father, etc...anything is possible in America´s pluralistic society. Terv. davey
