Muslims Turn to Home Schooling
LODI, Calif. — Like dozens of other Pakistani-American girls here, Hajra Bibi stopped attending the local public school when she reached puberty, and began studying at home.

Across the United States, Muslims who find that a public school education clashes with their religious or cultural traditions have turned to home schooling. That choice is intended partly as a way to build a solid Muslim identity away from the prejudices that their children, boys and girls alike, can face in schoolyards. But in some cases, as in Ms. Bibi’s, the intent is also to isolate their adolescent and teenage daughters from the corrupting influences that they see in much of American life.

About 40 percent of the Pakistani and other Southeast Asian girls of high school age who are enrolled in the district here are home-schooled, though broader statistics on the number of Muslim children being home-schooled, and how ...

TT, good point. Gov't is only competent to punish actual, not potential, criminals. Otherwise we get abuses like the internment of citizens of Japanese descent during WW2, which was in principle no different than what the Soviets did.

Muslims teach and believe falsehood and teach worship to a false god. They are lost and need to be told the good news of Jesus Christ. By homeschooling their children, they will further perpetuate this falsehood.

That being said, Muslims, as American citizens, have every right, and should have every right, to homeschool their children. Suicide bombing, killing others for any reason, and hijacking are illegal and should remain so. If they are engaged in these activities, then they are breaking the law. Homeschooling, however, is not, and should not be against the law. This is NOT Nazi Germany--yet!

Jim,
What do you mean by a "quality secular education"?
Well, I would mean students would have a thorough knowledge of the scientific method, an understanding of the religion of Evolution, so they could refute it. In other words, a home schooler should have the education to be able to enter an Ivy League school, and also given the education of why there are other alternatives of going to one of those institutions. Anyway, I have no problem with Encouraging and supporting Christian families who educate their children at home.

We already have been subverted - by Progressive education, which is what you get in most gov't & perhaps most Christian schools.

Imagine the political flap if anyone tries to ban Muslim but not Christian homeschools - the way things are going these days, the opposite is more likely.

If it were up to me, I'd just ban the gov't schools & take the libertarian chance with Muslim homeschools.

Dr. Phil, do I like or think the idea of Mohammedan homeschooling is a good one! I am with you Jim. Homeschooling is not a bad idea for "the Christian family", but not for a nation like the USA which is no longer "a Christian nation". With regards to the Muslims, the US is only providing them the mechanism for subversive activity training with homeschooling. That is the irony of the situation. It is an incubator for our own destruction.

Islam by definition and no matter how you slice it, is a theocracy. A theocracy, whether RCC or Islamic spells the end of liberty and the establishment of tyranny.

This makes it even more imperative that Christian home schoolers make sure their children get not only a quality Christian education, but a quality secular education as well.

Hey Jim,

I wonder what the Muslim Home School curriculum will be like:

Decapitation - 101
Bomb Making - 201
Suicide Vest Sewing - 301
Hi-jacking - 401
Advanced Sniper Training for extra-curricular activity

Clashes with their cultural traditions? Haven't they heard? In theory, they are Americans now. There is an American culture. Or there used to be.

"But in some cases, as in Ms. Bibi’s, the intent is also to isolate their adolescent and teenage daughters from the corrupting influences that they see in much of American life."

Yes, keep them safe from corrupt American influences. Wouldn't want them to learn the truth about real corruption, that Muslim honor killings of adolescent and teenage daughters is pure evil.

Wow! Radical MUSLIMS have come into our country and killed 3000+ Americans on our own soil, and then accuse us of "prejudices" and "corrupting influences". The followers of Muhamot have really learned the ways of twisting the truth like the Great Satan!
