IRVING, Texas - Mike Huckabee bowed to reality Tuesday and out of the Republican presidential race. "We kept the faith," he told his end-of-the-road rally Tuesday after John McCain clinched the nomination. "I'd rather lose an election than lose the principles that got me into politics in the first place."
The genial conservative went out as he had campaigned all along, with a quip: "It's time for us to hit the reset button."
Huckabee won the leadoff Iowa caucuses, making him a sudden but short-lived sensation, and then seven other states: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, West Virginia, Louisiana and Kansas. Meantime, McCain piled up big victories on his way to winning the prize on Tuesday night.
The writing was on the wall for weeks, but the former Arkansas governor hung on until McCain secured the necessary delegates....

To his credit, Mr. Mike Huckabee commented to indicate that the upcoming 'economic stimulus' package approved by Congress and the White House is more likely to stimulate China than the USA. The upcoming retirements of the baby boomer generation will decrease government receipts while increasing government spending (aka social security and medicare payments).
Mr. Rich Dad Poor Dad aka Robert Kiyosaki also comments on Yahoo Finance about the impact of 'economic stimulus'. Mr. Kiyosaki also comments about the massive debt of the US federal government. Link: American Empire In Decline
ALL of the remaining US presidentail candidates appear ready to continue (and expand) US over-spending and debt. Past empires have come and gone; the US empire is in decline. Only one King (Jesus Christ) will rule over a Kingdom that has no end.
Huckabee was an excellent choice, but America is so lost in following the hollywood and worldly, that only some will support him. Now that McCain has enough delegates to get the victory, we might as well try to get him in. Yet, the country wants a very American thing: change. (reguardless of whether it is good change or not) Americans want change, because our nation would rather change than vote for someone who will not give people everything they want ("freedoms" of immorality and violence are really chains of the enemy) God have mercy on our nation, and a big Amen for Huckabee who tried his best.
The writing has been on the wall for a while now. At least Huckabee did win in my state. Here is my prediction now...barring some great scandal we will have a democratic president elected this year. McCain is a good guy, but he is too old, or at least viewed as too old and he is too much aligned with George Dubya to win. I am one of like three people nation wide that still supports Dubya, but I see no way of anyone connected with him of getting in to the white house.In my view both democratic candidates are awful. Four years from now the American people will run not walk back to the republican side, so let's hope we get some good candidates in 2012. Of course we should pray for our leaders no matter who they end up being, I just think we are going in the wrong direction.
