LONDON (Reuters) - Children's author Jacqueline Wilson said on Monday she thinks young people are growing up too quickly, an opinion backed up by a survey showing over half of parents think childhood is over by the age of 11.
Teenagers are acting older at an "alarmingly young age", says Wilson, 62.
Among her best-known titles are "The Story of Tracy Beaker" about a 10-year-old growing up in a children's home and "Girls in Love", a tale of hairstyles, boyfriends and make-up.
I don't believe children are growing up faster, because they would begin being more mature and responsible earlier. What IS happening is they are exhibiting their depraved nature earlier than they used to. There is very little innocence left in children anymore.
And some of you complained against the preachers who told you not to get a television or go to movies!?! Have you ever seen the Disney channel? I have at my in-laws (we don't have a TV), and it was incredible how the children on those shows address and talk to adults. Utter disrespect.
As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. Isaiah 3:12
Wow! It's horrendous what some churches teach the kids.
"A growing number of socially liberal churches are bringing sex education into the sanctuary. The United Church of Christ and the Unitarian Universalist Association have together developed a curriculum for children as young as 6 they call “Our Whole Lives--Sexuality and Our Faith.” Combining information about contraception and sexually transmitted diseases with a discussion of sexual morality grounded in religious faith, the program approaches the intersection of sex and religion from the political left.
Many congregations begin teaching sex-ed classes because parents feel the programs offered in schools aren’t providing information they want their kids to have. Far from being uncomfortable about bringing condoms into church, these parents and teachers believe that sex and God are a natural combination."
It's revealing what this survey defines as "adult" behavior.
Hairstyles? Not a big deal for us - order not fashion. Ear piercing? Nope. Alcohol? We abstain. Sleepovers? Only when relatives visit. Out past 11pm? Generally only when traveling.
Rom 13:1 "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."
Today the religion of Liberalism seeks to remove all authority by destroying the influence of Scripture, the Name of Christ indeed God's providence. This satanic influence has moved into society and political leadership, justice and our other institutions are suffering decline in authority in society.
Adulthood has also taken a downturn as with marriage and motherhood/fatherhood. Therefore it is no surprise that childhood is also at odds with normal community life, when parents are too busy serving mammon to care.
Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
When this is not the case then children become a problem.
Psa 89:30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments; 31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; 32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
Ex 20:5 ...for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
