Politician: Homosexual activity caused earthquake
The recent earthquake that was felt across Israel was the result of the "homosexual activity practiced in the country", Knesset Member Shlomo Benizri said Wednesday.

During a special Knesset session on Israel's preparedness for the possibility of another earthquake hitting the region, the Shas member said "the Gemara refers to earthquakes as disasters, but you are searching only for the practical solutions how to prevent and repair.

"But I no of another way to prevent earthquakes; the Gemara mentions a number of causes of earthquakes, one of which is homosexuality, which the Knesset legitimizes," Benizri said. ...

The edition I use is the newer reprint published by Tolle Lege Press and I highly recommend it:

http://www.tollelegepress.com/gb/geneva.php

Here's a good review of it:

I'm tempted to buy that new reprint of the Geneva, though I love those old facsimiles.

For another surprise, at www.thedcl.org/bible/gb
check out the Genesis images; there is a woodcut on PDF pg. 14 that looks strikingly similar to current Creationist thinking. No Playskool boat here!

So far it seems that where the Geneva differs from the KJV, it is usually simpler.

Thanks, Neil.

It's quite a coincidence that you mention that. I was telling a friend Sunday how much I enjoy comparing verses in the KJV to the Geneva Bible renderings. I also have the marginal notes from the Geneva on my PC and I refer to them often.

kenny, in case you missed my other post about this, I thought you might be interested in the Geneva Bible's blunt rendering of 1 Tim 1:10
www.thedcl.org/bible/gb/1timothy.pdf
Note the difference vs. the KJV. The etymology of Strong's Gk. #733 isn't very "nice" either.

This article brings out an excellent point.

I don't know whether the earthquake in Israel was a result of 'homosexuality' in the land or not. Only God knows.
I do know, however, that God has judged and destroyed other civilizations for it's acceptance and tolerance of sodomites in the past and there is no reason to believe he will not do it again.

That is exactly why the live-and-let-live attitude toward sodomites in society (even in the churches!) today is so very dangerous. These people are not poor, misguided little puppies who have stumbled into sin. They are sodomites. They are at war with God and shake their fists in his face. They choose to commit sodomy-over and over and over again.

Sodomy is a vile sin and I fear God's soon judgement on this country if the current course contiunues.

We do not need classes for 'homophobes' or 'loving acceptance' of them as 'Christian brothers'. They should be shunned and ostracized because of their unrepentant, sickening behavior and we need true men of God who are not afraid to speak out against this filthy foolishness lest worse than an earthquake befalls us.

Pardon me, but it says more about the "pastor" than the curch (sic).

Pastor Mike,

Are you really the pastor of a church? Please don't take this the wrong way, but I've been reading your previous posts, and many of the things you write are very unchristian. You need to repent and ask Jesus into your heart, because I think you may not be truly saved. I will be praying for both you and the members of your church, if you really have a church.

Sincerely,

Jen Smith

We should be moved with compassion when tragedies take place but we must have a proper perspective about tragedies. The God who created everything continues to be active in His Creation. He sustains it, directs it, and controls it. The Father and the Son are involved in the Creation. The Deist position that the Creation goes on by the working of natural laws without Christ's involvement is not biblical. The Scriptures from Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21 speak of His personal and direct involvement. Such is our comfort and confidence in times such as these if the Creator Christ is our personal Lord and Savior!

Allan, it may be that "Pastor" Mike did evolve. Just not very far.

If Mike had bothered to read the article carefully, he would have noticed that the Knesset member was not referring to the Bible, but to Gemara, part of the uninspired Talmud. But I suppose that these days, it's easier to get away with heaping scorn upon "trailer trash" than upon Jews.

FYI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemara

By the way, geologists don't understand plate tectonics either; they just make up plausible stories about it. This is why it's called a "theory."

They ... and certain members of the Israeli Knesset who cite the Gamara as their basis of belief. "Bible zombies" are they?
Interesting!
Now see Isaiah 45:7, "Pastor."
The NASB has it: "The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating CALAMITY; I am the LORD who does all these."

They are God's plate tectonics and He is active in His creation. It is too bad you have such a hatred for God's truth that makes you so blind.

What nonsense! Earthquakes have been happening since the beginning of the world before humans even evolved. So obviously they're not due to human activity. The only people who believe this rubbish are ignorant, dirt-poor trailer trash Bible zombies who don't understand the theory of plate tectonics!
