Wheaton College Invites Pro-Gay Evangelical Speaker
A pro-gay evangelical leader spoke at Wheaton College Tuesday evening, drawing criticism from Christian groups that oppose the homosexual agenda.
Jim Wallis, founder of the progressive social justice group Sojourners and Call to Renewal, was the featured speaker at Wheaton College’s Center for Applied Christian Ethics (CACE).
Wallis, who was visiting the highly-respected evangelical institution as part of his book tour, legitimized legal recognition of homosexual relationships as a “justice issue” in his new book The Great Awakening ....
these so called leaders are compromisers. the main issue is the love of self and money. anyone who compromises truth from scripture is a hireling and is just like baalim prophet, or soothsayer. I say examine yourselves whether you be of the faith. The reason for this downfall is the pulpits in America we have enjoyed numbers rather than conversion these men had probably made a proffession as a child, but tell me where a child is saved in scripture!!!! Lets focus on our family how many ministers have you heard of losing their families for the cause of Christ another oxymoron God ordained the family one man one woman for life and as many children as he will allow them. We say we are anti abortion but how many of us would take a pill to prevent it or go through surgery we are in our chair of ease God will pull this rug out from under us. we say that we believe the bible but how many of us do. How about your prayer life? Do you walk with God? So many are mama called and papa sent today they dont know the truth or let alone how to stand for it or preach it. One more thing a lot of these big named evangelists have a huge problem they have a problem with authority they are sent out by self and not the local church!!!!!!!
Consider 1 Tim. 1:10; whom the KJV euphemistically calls "them that defile themselves with mankind" are given a less polite name in the Geneva Bible: www.thedcl.org/bible/gb/1timothy.pdf
No one can deny that God's providence has removed some restraints within the last fifty years. Homosexuals are coming out of their closets and manifesting their pride. Gay pride was not in our vocabulary fifty years ago. The degree of sexual promiscuity manifested today was unheard of then. The sanctity of the home and family was not violated then as it is today. There were no human laws giving women the right to murder their unborn babies. People were not marching as they are now for what they call "their rights." By rights every human being deserves hell. The answer to why God is putting up with all this is not difficult from the Biblical perspective. God is longsuffering for the sake of the elect who have not been brought by the Holy Spirit into the actuality of His grace in Christ. (See II Pet. 3:9,15; II Tim. 1:9; Eph. 2:1-8.)
