Pope cancels trip to Rome university after protests
Pope Benedict XVI has canceled his visit to Rome's secular La Sapienza university following a protest letter signed by 67 of 4,500 professors and complaints by thousands of students that he devalues science.

But the Vatican says the pope's views were distorted and taken out of historic context and that his speech will still be sent to the university even though the pontiff will not deliver it.

"It was considered opportune to skip the event," Vatican sources told the Associated Press.

Such a cancellation of a scheduled papal event is extremely rare, and the few times it has happened in recent decades, the Vatican cited security concerns. When news of the cancellation reached the campus on Tuesday, students in a political sciences hall broke into applause. ...

Lance,

I will continue to pray for you. I will be leaving S.A. for awhile. It concerns me that R.C. and Muslims are unsaved with hell as their destiny.

You may not consider yourself a theologian but before you begin denying all of the accusations against Romish doctrine, you should at least know what their CCC says.(The only real value is the Bible, though.)

My question was "whom" not the how of John 1:3. Presuming that Jesus Christ was not the Creator God is a "HERESY" that even the Papal Cult would attest to. Your own catechism(CCC 2nd. Ed.)
paragraph 291, clearly says this.

Lance, I earnestly ask you to read the entire Gospel of John. John 3:36827

No! I have to respective disagree with you, this gets to the heart of Catholicisim, especially since 'Truth Seeker' has made the claim the RCC is spot on Scripturally and you yourself have made the claim your religion, your magisterium are the only offical interpreters of Scripture.

Has the leadership of the Roman Catholic Church been in league with Satan (and deceived by him) who has decieved over one billion human beings into worshipping this false god, Allah, in Islam, to offically teach in your own Catechism that Catholics and Muslims worship the same god?

Lance
Lone Ranger
Truth Seeker

I believe you already know the answer. Scripturally the Roman Catholic Church cannot teach such a thing and be the True Church, the Pope cannot teach such a thing and be any kind of a successor of Peter,

AND sincere Catholic people no matter how good their intentions and all the good things Catholic people have done (humanly speaking) to help others are still in a false relgion that is in awful sin against Christ.

I'm not enough of a theologian to know how God the Son was involved in the creation, but the Apostles' Creed says: "I believe in God the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth." So I must presume that God the Father created the world.

The beginning of John's Gospel is a bit hard to interpret (for an amateur like me).

Lance,

It is very sad that the cults(of which the Roman is the largest, most organized and most deceptive)have such a stranglehold on their adherents that they have them convinced that only a few "higher ups" can interpret even the clear Biblical texts.

I don't know if you will endeavor to interpret this but here it goes:

If what you say is true then your "hierarchy of teachers" are a very twisted group to have gotten it so wrong on the identity of God that is so clear in the Bible that a common person reading his way through God's precious Word would have no problem understanding...

Allah is not God, Allah is a false God, those who worship the True and Living God DO NOT worship Allah and those who worship Allah DO NOT worship the True and Living God.

It is very important to note that God Himself teaches us clearly in Scripture that He has no intention whatsoever to bring together into a "oneness" all the false religions of the world and will utterly reject their false worship, He will however save those who repent and come out of any false religion and come to Him through faith in His Son Jesus Christ.

Lance Eccles,

You said, "...the argument just keeps going around in circles...neither of us accepting what the other has said."

Except that one quotes from his so-called hierarchy of teachers while the others use Scripture.

The "not clear" is a cop out. The Biblical truth of Jesus Christ being the creator God is MOST CLEAR!

The muslims disagree with the most fallible papacy and would denounce any mention of divinity to Jesus Christ at all.

Because you have no Biblical defense you make statements like; this just keeps going round and round.

There is no hope in Rome's man-made doctrines. Lance, come out of her and receive Jesus Christ for "FULL SATISFACTION" of the punishment due our sins.

Lance Eccles,

Hm,m,m,in your last post you made three comments and none of them had to do with Michaels comment concerning the Bible's creator God. Rome is full of teachings that contradict the Bible, of course after many rebuttals you continue to ignore the truth and be led astray by the blind teachings of men.
Lance, concerning the Biblical creator here is one for you. WHO is the THOU LORD in Hebrews 1:10?
"And, THOU, LORD, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:"
This is a direct reference to Psalm 102:25 "Of old Thou didst found the earth; And the heavens are the work of Thy hands"

Thou is Jesus Christ, Yahweh, Jehovah God!!! NOT the creator god of the Muslims. Similar to Mariolotry, Purgatory, etc.,the teachings of the papacy are wrong AGAIN!

Actually, Lance, what isn't clear and understandable about the following?

Colossians 2
16. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day or a new moon or a sabbath day:
1Timothy 4
3 forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth.

Now that is quite clear, isn't it? Clerical Celibacy

Lance I would suggest that you pick up a copy of a bible commentary, such as MacArthur Bible Commentary. I am sure there would be stores in Australia that would handle this. However, only Christians can really accurately interpret the Bible, and non-Christians such as Popes priests, etc. with all the help from the World, and that is where it comes from, can never understand the Bible.

841 of the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church is contrary to Scripture.

God Himself tells us in the 10 Commandments that we are to have no other gods before Him. Seems like Allah the false god of the Muslims is having another god besides the Only True and Living God.

Very serious sin against God.

Its actually quite simple, kind of like the man born blind who Jesus healed.
Did he hear God or not. Wow! God Himself spoke to this "nobody" and he believed. Whereas the super religious elite who thought they were so great spiritually, after all they had the Scriptures and their Tradition and their intellectual scholarship and even had the Son of God preaching in their Synagoges didn't...Imagine that.
Yes, any old nobody can know what is right in this matter by what God Himself says to us in Scripture whereas the sophisticated religious with their Scripture plus Tradition plus their "reasonings" to "fit" their Religion altogether won't, after all isn't one of the basic beliefs of Catholicism that the God only communicates to the religious elite in some kind of mystical way and not simply to the common people clearly and understandably through His Holy Written Word the Bible.

Truth Seeker,
Rome has so many teachings that are contrary to Scripture with such a breach that they might want to rename their catechism to catechasm.
The canon of Holy Scripture was well established by the time Mohammed rolled around(pun not intended)and they were well aware of the Christian teaching of the Triune God and that Jesus Christ participated in creation.
The Muslims DO NOT believe in the same creator God that Christians do. Once again the papacy is in great error.

Interesting development.
The Jewish God is not God? So you reject the Old Testament. Are all those OT quotes in the NT just deceitfulness?
And Michael, Mohammed didn't get his revelation from Allah, he got it from himself. That's why it's so inconsistent and contradictory.
When you have a view of God that is inconsistent with His written Word, you have A FALSE GOD. Todays Jews do not worship the God of the Bible, for they don't worship Jesus Christ. Neither do Roman Catholics. They worship a wafer that they call Jesus.

Christians, Jews, and Muslims all worship the God of Abraham, but not with the same level of understanding, truth, etc. Just because they worship the correct God, doesn't mean they worship him correctly. That is what the Catechism asserts.

You have claimed the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church are spot on Scripturally, PROVE IT!

Prove from Scripture where someone, anyone can worship a false god and actually be worshipping the Only True and Living God, that would be the God of the Bible btw.

Now Prove from Scripture those who do know and worship the Only True and Living God have any right whatsoever to join in worship with those worshipping a false god.

Prove from Scripture this Allah of a demon possessed murderous pedophile is actually the Only True and Living God and not a false god, since your Catechism claims Catholic and Muslims both worship the same god.

Lance the only going round is circles is those who refuse to own up to the facts that the Leadership of the Roman Catholic Religion at its highest levels is serious wrong in the matter.
