Influential Theologian Troubled by Christian-Muslim Dialogue
A prominent theologian expressed concerns this week about the recent Christian response to a historic Muslim letter in which signers appeared unclear about their Christian identity and different beliefs of God.
The letter, titled ‚ÄúLoving God and Neighbor Together: A Christian Response to a Common Word Between Us and You,‚ÄĚ failed to clearly define the Christian understanding of God as the trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, pointed out R. Albert Mohler, Jr., president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, on his national radio program Tuesday.
Mohler explained that Muslims also believe in Jesus but only as a prophet, not as the son of God. Therefore, Christians must distinguish what kind of God they believe in when responding to the Muslim letter, which emphasized love for a common God....
Thank God for men who are courageous enough to stand up against the false and satanic doctrine of islam. God's Word clearly tells us, ‚ÄúWho is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also‚ÄĚ (I John 2:22-23).
As for all those so-called "Christian" leaders who deny this most basic of all Scripture doctrine that defines us as Christians (followers of Christ), God's Word warned us about them as well: ‚ÄúBut there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not‚ÄĚ (II Peter 2:1-3).
If you don't believe that the way of Truth is evil spoken of these days, you haven't heard how our political candidates who are Christians are attacked on every side by the "noose" media...
Some Christians do need to be reminded, Romans 11 24 For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these, which are the natural [branches], be grafted into their own olive tree? 25 For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part hath befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in; 26 and so all Israel shall be saved: even as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer; He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Everything that Mohler said about the Moslems can be said about the Jews, but worse. Moslems believe in Jesus being a prophet and some even believe in His virgin birth. Jews consider Christ an illigitimate fraud burning in human excrement in Hell (Talmud). Yet it's O-K to have dialogue with them? Oh yeah, I forgot, no matter how reprobate they are, they are God's chosen people and Christians are just a "parenthesis".
