Huckabee stands by 'Christ' comment

Mike Huckabee

DES MOINES, Iowa - Mike Huckabee, a Republican relying on support from religious conservatives in Thursday's hard-fought presidential caucuses, on Sunday stood by a decade-old comment in which he said, "I hope we answer the alarm clock and take this nation back for Christ."

In a television interview, the ordained Southern Baptist minister and former Arkansas governor made no apologies for the 1998 comment made at a Southern Baptist Convention meeting in Salt Lake City.

"It was a speech made to a Christian gathering, and, and certainly that would be appropriate to be said to a gathering of Southern Baptists," Huckabee said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

He gave the speech the same year he endorsed the Baptist convention's statement of beliefs on marriage that "a wife is to submit graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ." ...

Amen!!! That is exactly what I said in
another comment regarding Mr. Huckabee.
We as Christians should be willing to
refer to Christ anywhere, not just in a
Baptist Church.

Amen to Redness37 also!! He/Her also hit the nail on the head.

God bless you both for your bold stand
for the Lord Jesus Christ....

Get real people! No wonder why some people think that Christians are losers.

They are,

PRIDE, might want to become a loser
God hates pride

I agree, no one is good (let alone perfect) but christians will vote
for a christian, or they are not a christian.

Terry,
He would probably be the other one I would consider, but I don't believe he takes the stand for Christ that Mike Huckabee does. Remember, we are dealing with Politicians that have allowed Muslims and Hindus to be chaplains in our military! Thanks Ernie

Mike Huckabee should win the votes of Professing Christians if they are truly concerned about putting Jesus Christ first for the country's well being. (It is not anything new for Politicians to talk from both sides of their mouth to get elected.)
Mr. Huckabee just won my vote as I was unsure who to vote for as the rest of the issues mean nothing if the man does not use God and country in his campaign. I could care less about his stance on other issues, because if he is seeking answers from the Almighty God of the Bible on them, I can live with that over all the other pretenders!!
And that is my humble opinion, and if you don't like it, I have plenty more!

That is lame trying to attack Ron Paul like that...

Huckabee DID NOT defend his "Christ" comment at all. He backed off like a little wimp. He pretty much said, "I told the Baptists what they wanted to hear, and he told Tim Russert what the heathens and brainwashed christians wanted to hear.

All his religious talk is just watered down cliches that usually aren't even biblical but POP Christianity gets their ears tickled by it.

He has no clue as to the limitations of Federal government or the President. He supports an unbibilical unconstitutional war.

Here are a few good articles to look a little more closely at Mr. Huckabee.

Hey JP,

It is a free country. At least for now, let us pray that it continues in freedom. There are many that want to bring us back to the "flesh-pots" and burdens of Egypt and the prelacy of Rome. I'm uncertain if Huckabee is not one of them.

I don't know why people are so upset about this statement. It is really ambiguous and rhetorical. I mean, what "Christ" is he referring to? He is not specific. With his other references to the legitimacy of the RCC, he could be talking about the Anti-"Christ" for all we know from this. This guy is no Gomer Pyle. Surprise, Surprise, Surprise.

Huckabee, made a good statement, except I don't know about bring the America back to Christ, I have my doubts that the United States has ever been dedicated to Christ, admittedly even less today than perhaps at any other time, Marks of the True Believer.

"Are John Paul II, Ron Paul and Alex Jones All on Same NWO Team?

According to long time Paul supporter and Jones listener, 'it's all too obvious' if you take time to connect the dots.

By Greg Szymanski

The corrupt alternative media, including the GCN and RBN networks and American Free Press newspaper, should "be dismantled piece by piece" and new stations and print outlets allowed to emerge--outlets not afraid to discuss the Vatican-led New World Order and its many tentacles like the Knights of Malta.

"It is my New Year's hope in 2007 that the alternative media begin to police itself since they are covering for the Vatican and Jesuit Order's involvement in the New World Order," said former military intelligence specialist, Darryl Eberhart, adding it is obvious much of the alternative is controlled since it fails to criticize the Vatican at any level.

And why is it important to begin to seriously question the motives of those alternative media hounds like those in the mainstream media who don't "tell the whole Illuminati story and just blame the Jews or Bilderbergers"?

It's important, say many researchers like Eberhart, because "millions of people..."
