I think there are two clear reasons why Christians tolerate it.

One is that Christians today for the most part totally lack discernment. It is downright frightening what goes on among believers and in churches. Most of it is instigated by worldly, me-centered music (listen to most any of the modern "praise and worship") that sneaks in and quickly permeates EVERY area of a believer's and a church's life. Satan knows that young people are idealistic and vulnerable. Satan knows that women are easily deceived. Satan has used emotionalism and worldly music to wreak havoc in churches to the point that most of the real Christians that I know can't find a church home. The ones who do find one have to compromise in some area just to have a place to worship with others.

I had the same trouble finding out actually who she was/is on the web. I did find an interview, and she sounded pretty bright, but I'm not comfortable in basing my views on an interview.

Anyone who publishes a Christian bible, as a greek expert, and claims that homosexuality has been misunderstood by previous scholarly generations so that now she must help them accurately define the proper greek translations is suspect.

I see the same thing in her interview article where she brings in the theory that all of her greek definitions now need to be based upon all of the uncovered "secular" documents and "other manuscripts" that have been found.

If you think about this view it is no better than Jack Van Impe using today's media reports and newspaper clippings to interpret the bible. They apply man's worldly documents to interpret Scripture and she admits to be using even secular documents to interpret the Greek words.
