More women than men ordained in Church of England
LONDON (AFP) - More women than men were ordained as Church of England priests last year for the first time since a ban was lifted on female clergy, the church said Tuesday.

A total of 478 clergy were ordained in 2006; of those 244 were women and 234 men. Most of the women were ordained to unpaid or non-stipendiary posts, such as the role of assistant priest.

Of those ordained to full-time stipendiary or paid posts, 128 were men and 95 were women.

Very good comment Seaton.

Gil Rugh said or, wrote:
In chapter 2 Paul is zeroing in on the roles of men and women. The world lives in rebellion against our God and rejects his purposes and plans as the creator, because they reject him. But God requires that we as His people be living out his will in the world. The scripture is absolutely clear that God has a different purpose and design for a man and a woman. For 18 centuries there was universal agreement about the meaning of what Paul wrote here. Then about 50 years ago the modern feminist movement stormed on to the scene and shortly thereafter the church began finding new ways of interpreting passages relating to the role of women that would make it more acceptable to the thinking of the world. Paul wrote to the Romans and said do not be conformed to the world but be transformed.

1 Corinthians 14:33-35

14:33 Non enim est dissensionis Deus, sed pacis: sicut et in omnibus Ecclesiis sanctorum doceo.

14:33 And God is not of dissension, but of peace, just as I also teach in all the Churches of the saints.

14:34 Mulieres in Ecclesiis taceant, non enim permittitur eis loqui, sed subditas esse, sicut et lex dicit.

14:34 Women should be silent in the Churches. For it is not permitted for them to speak; but instead, they should be subordinate, as the law also says.

14:35 Si quid autem volunt discere, domi viros suos interrogent. Turpe est enim mulieri loqui in Ecclesia.

14:35 And if they want to learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the Church.

I am not comfortable with women as Pastors and am most often not comfortable with women speaking in front of the Church. My pet peeve is when women are in the front of the Church giggling on the pulpit, telling of an upcoming Church picnic.

As for me I have asked my husband at "home" (The world is not my home), and he likes my countenance better when use sermonaudio to study God's Word. I am not sure about The Lord, but my husband would say I am pretty silent right now!

"More women than men were ordained as Church of England priests last year for the first time since a ban was lifted on female clergy"

You can stick as many Liberals in the pulpit as you want, whether male or female. But God will not use them as ministers, since theirs is a different religion to Christianity.

The reason today that women are accessing this position, is the cultural idea that women can carry out the same role and function as men.
But God reveals this to be anathema.
The society is suffering from a rebellion(transgression) from the Law of God.

Rom 1:18 "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness"

Hence if this is a "wrath" revealed we will observe it here on earth.
Rom 1
v21/22 They become vain fools not glorifying God as they should
v23 Commit idolatry
v24 Dishonour their bodies
v25 Worship themselves
v26/27 God gives them up to sodomy
v28 And gives them over to reprobate minds
v29-31 Society becomes a criminal fraternity (Lawless)
v32 Those who know the Law of God not only do the same but take pleasure in their sin. = Liberalism.

The natural result of not glorifying God is glorifying man, v25.
Liberalism is the religion of a celebrity culture.
