NCC Installs New Leadership
As the National Council of Churches (NCC) in the USA reshapes amid budget shortfalls, top officials were installed Thursday to lead the ecumenical group.

Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, who represents the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern) in Washington, and the Rev. Dr. Michael Kinnamon, a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) clergyman, were installed as NCC president and general secretary, respectively.

Aykazian is the third Orthodox president and the first from the Oriental Orthodox tradition, according to NCC News Service. He will succeed outgoing president Michael Livingston, who served in the office since January 2006, as the 24th NCC president in the group's more than 50-year history. ...

Indeed Jim. The only good news in this article is the one about their budget shortfalls. I would hate to work in an organisation whose only aim is to prepare mainline "christianity" for the coming antichrist. Now I hope some of them will have their eyes opened by the Holy Spirit and will get off this sinking ship before its too late.

While one can be rather gleeful that the NCC is suffering financial problems, one would wish the same fate for this group as well.

"'Prosperity' Televangelists Probed for Possible Financial Misconduct"

http://www.christianpost.com/article/20071107/29989_%5C%27Prosperity%5C%27_Televangelists_Probed_for_Possible_Financial_Misconduct.htm

This group of "prosperity" preachers are not suffering any lack of that, in financial matters, anyway.

Since many of these people fall under the charismatic model, this sermon should be fitting,"The Charismatics' Role in Ecumenism"

Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 14And the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things; and they scoffed at him. 15And he said unto them, Ye are they that justify yourselves in the sight of men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
