ROSSVILLE, Ill. — When Witch School came to town, Mayor Terry Prillaman stopped in to welcome the owners, as he does whenever a new business opens. "If you don't like them, don't patronize them," he says. "It's like a tattoo parlor: You don't have to go in."
Youth pastor Andy Thomas, though, believes the arrival of witches in this town of 1,200 created a "spiritual battle" pitting "the forces of darkness against the forces of light."
Rosella Ray, who runs the Village Art & Culture Center, a shop near the school, keeps her distance from the witches. "They just do their thing, whatever their thing is," she says....
What does God's word say about witchcraft? "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For ALL who do these things are an abomination to the Lord." Deuteronomy 18:10-12. All may seem innocent on the surface; keep in mind even Satan disquises himself as an angel of light. There are many ways to invite evil spirits into your home, and true born again, fruit bearing Christians will speak out against such evil. "Do I seek to please men? For, if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ."{Galatians 1:10} Those who disagree with God's word will stand before Him stammering, stuttering, and be without sound argument. Now is the time for repentance and coming to Jesus by faith, believing He is who He says He is, and trusting in Him.
Comparing jesuits to witches really goes too far !As wrong as some of their doctrines are, they believe in Jesus Christ as Saviour which witches dont ! Give me a Jesuit school anyday, but then I have experienced witches in the vicinity and was raised RC, so have a little knowledge of the difference!! Where I live, there has been spiritual warfare but it can be subtle. The Lord will warn his people though and mobilises them to pray..I have experienced this a few times, and He is always victorious AMEN !

Their are pleanty of Protestant denominations who lean towards Wiccan beliefs. Catholics have their problems, but they aren't the only ones.
Actually I live less than 20 miles from Hoopeston and these witches haven't really even made the news here locally. Neither have I noticed any more of a spiritual warfare here. Our big problem is gang warfare. Since the big wigs have been closing down the government housing in Chicago and East St Louis, they have been spreading the people around the state. Danville has taken a big hit, considering the lack of employers in the first place.
These gangs and thugs need Jesus. The problem is there are very few people who are trying to reach out to these guys. They need a wholistic Gospel. They need guidance and mentoring, spiritually as well as how to become employable, responsible, etc.
I wonder how many of the Christian reading this sit at home on their computer all day, without ever engaging the world around them, in evangelism, discipleship and reaching out to the poor and the outcast, the widow and the orphans.
