Flag-burning 'lesson' provokes UM student
ORONO, Maine - A University of Maine student alleges her former professor offered extra credit to class members if they burned the American flag or the U.S. Constitution or were arrested defending free speech.

On the first day of class, associate professor Paul Grosswiler offered the credit to members of his History of Mass Communications class, according to sophomore Rebekah McDade. Disturbed by the comment, McDade dropped the class and intends to take the course again next semester with a different professor.

"I was offended," McDade said Friday. "I come from a family of military men and women, and the flag and Constitution are really important symbols to me because of my family background."

In an e-mail responding to a request for comment from the Bangor Daily News on Friday, Grosswiler said he thought McDade misunderstood the class discussion, which was intended to elicit thought about ...

ALBERT,
now i get it ,why ,when the harvest is past and the SUMMER is ended, they are still NOT SAVED

Its because the Christians are lazing about TANNING themselves during the SUMMER instead of getting about evangelising the lost.

It all makes sense now !

Hey,thats why we must be born again, then we can reach the lost.

(Take this comment lightly Albert, although there is undoubtedly some truth in it.)

oh.Just remembered,God will save His elect, whether or not you are tanning yourself,or not,so ,i guess it dont matter anyway

Even Jesus who confronted and rebuked the Pharisees repeatedly and rightly so nevertheless had occasion when He dealt with one of them who had observed something correctly in a quite civil manner. He was not above eating a meal with them when they invited Him 'home to dinner' (I have to think they already knew He wouldn't back down on what He was teaching). And if ever a Roman Catholic knowing where I stand desired to have me 'come to dinner' at their home it would be an honor to accept and tell them of Jesus Christ in greater detail in a much more personal setting. And if they were imagining that we would be desiring to find common ground they would be sadly disappointed.

Terry, we are not here to destroy men's lives but that Christ might use us to save them. The apostles certainly had before them the best example they could ever have in Jesus who never compromised on the truth, who confronted false teachers and teaching and yet desired not their destruction but that they would come to repentance, genuine faith and salvation.

I certainly have a lot to learn in this. I have a lot going on here but if you would like you can email me and I will reply as I am able.

no you don't quite get it, and I know you were blasting him pretty good with verses, good ones at that, when I wrote to you the first time.
Got to make this short.
fellowship, not with GG but other christians, by simply talking to gg he wrote you back mike, saying he knew you were for real., man I may not have written what you said to him, but to me it was your light shinning, and to me, as a christian, I was glad rejoycing, to read it . fellowship, watching God's word in action.
How long or how much condemnation do you think, GG and Lance have to hear?
No one on sa will convert them , why are they here, there are no catholic sermons on sa. Im saying
1.The Bible is clear on how to treat those who reject the word, see we like to say they are in error, no
2. Are they on this website because they are searching for the truth, no
3.Are they close to your own heart, yes
5. Why, don't know, ask God, he said it would happen.
6. There are no privite conversations, the saved, yearning to feel Gods Word come alive here, not all the strife, the lost, watching christians at play,
the wise, the wolf, his chance to attack anyone he can, a christian does not his own opinon.

I don't understand your comment in reply to my post. Lance and I both know the we have irreconciable differences between us theologically and btw I've referenced a good deal of Scripture to him.

My comment to him was not to have fellowship with him but to give him an honest acknowledgement. As much as I hate the fact that Roman Catholicism preaches a false gospel with both a different Jesus and a different Mary and with its teachings seduces people into a horrible apostate blasphemous idolatrous religion - I do not hate Lance but desire his salvation. Yes, he is disobedient in his Catholicism to the Word of God but so was every one of us prior to being born again and heartbreakingly still can be when we yield to the flesh and not to the Spirit.

Knowing that you are a devote Catholic I appreciate your post.
This is certainly something that did not come about easily or quickly.
And honestly the only way I could in good conscience reject what you call the certainty of Catholicsim is that The Gospel and The Scriptures are even more, far more certain and sure and know that in them I had heard the very word of God.
I can give more detail if you would like. But again I will take what you've observed as a compliment that my rejection of Roman Catholicism is for sincere reasons and not merely prejudice.

The next time you come on and try to say mary is the mother of God,just think back to the time you wouldn't or couldn't answer my questions on who the verses in the old and new testament were speaking about.
Your getting like the muslims, nothing but lies and tradition to cover your churches false teachings.

Expect nothing else from you

Thanks for the advice, Wayne, but these things you mention (what the Bible teaches about salvation and about righteousness) are things the RCC has studied for centuries. It has not come to the same conclusions as the Reformers.

It astonishes me. I can't imagine how anyone can reject the certainty of Catholicism for the do-it-yourself chaos of Protestantism.
Would Biblical truth be enough reason Lance?

If you are going to reject one in favour of the other, why not at least understand what it is you are rejecting. I have not seen anything yet to indicate you really understand Protestanism. If you are going to risk your soul, which you are, why not at least try to find out what Protestantism believes and what the Bible teaches about salvation. To reject something out of hand without knowing what it is seems foolhardy, especially when your soul is at stake.

For example, do you understand the difference between Paul's teaching in Romans chapters 3-5 about imputed righteousness by faith in Jesus Christ and RCC's teaching of salvation through the RCC sacraments? This is basic. Study it in your RC Bible if you wish, but at least know what it is you are talking about.

Michael H, reading your posts I've gradually come to the conclusion that you really are sincere in your rejection of Catholicism.

It astonishes me. I can't imagine how anyone can reject the certainty of Catholicism for the do-it-yourself chaos of Protestantism.

My reaction to anyone who does this (especially priests) is to suspect their motives -- that perhaps they are shopping round for a church that approves of their favorite sins. But I've come to realize that sometimes they are entirely sincere.

It's a great mystery.

Good points too btw.
And as to weeping there are times I would love to just weep before the Lord when I think of sincere Catholics being so sincerely wrong who reject the truth the Lord brings to them and will perish in Hell forever. He has made it so clear that He is good and ready to forgive and abounds in mercy to all who call upon Him.

But still they would rather call upon a counterfeit of the real Mary.

M.Hranek: I was making a point by asking:

Q:Is anyone in the mood for burning the Sodomite "Rainbow" Flag (Fag-Flag)?

Q:Is anyone in the mood for burning the Satanic Vatican Flag (Ensign of Anti-Christ)?

Q:Is anyone in the mood for burning the wafte-god (death-cookie/"host"-of-hell/euthanizian-'eucharist') of The Satanic Roman "Catholic" Cult of Popish "Jesuitic" Vaticanism?

Q:How about the Burning of Any Papal Bull['organic suprises'] from The Roman Anti-Christ Joseph RATzinger/Benedict XVI?

These questions REALLY REVEALED the "CORRUPTED", "POLLUTED" and "REPROBATED" spirit/soul of "lance (you-know-who) eccles"!

But more than that, I TOTALLY agree with you on the matter of JUDGEMENT being "a SOBERING thing to US"!

I have been WINNING LOST ROMAN CATHOLICS to the TRUE AUTHORIZED-BIBLICAL LORD JESUS CHRIST since the fall of 1975!

As I have also been PRAYING for THEIR SALVATION since!

In answer to your question Yes
but far more than just that

And His judgment should be a sobering thing to us, it will come it is just not time yet. And knowing it will come we ought to fear Him and make straight the way of the Lord in our own lives now as this is the day of salvaion.

Rev 17:5,6,16
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

AV, I believe more than warning of this wicked religious system we ought to often fall on our faces before Jesus Christ and with all our hearts thank Him for saving us from our sins and continually cry out to Him to save others from it as well. As apart from His grace they will not listen.
