Anglican debate on women bishops reignites
DIVISIONS in the Anglican Church over women bishops were reignited yesterday when conservatives from opposite ends of the spectrum set up an organisation to protect dissidents.

More than a quarter of the 247 delegates to the Anglican general synod in Canberra held a hastily organised late-night meeting and set up a group to represent opponents of women bishops.

Liberals thought the battle for women bishops was over when the church's highest court ruled last month that they were legal, but debate will now start again.

The new group, the Association for Apostolic Ministry, is headed by Sydney Archbishop Peter Jensen, the church's leading evangelical, and Ballarat Bishop Michael Hough, chief spokesman for the high-church group known as Anglo-Catholics. ...

Reforming fallen churches from the inside, I think always leads to failure. What is there to discuss?

Gil Rugh said or, wrote:
God's word addresses all the areas of life. As we read and study what He has said we must make every effort to understand it for what it says. This means we must avoid bringing our preconceptions and worldly notions to bear on the meaning of the text.

One of the most important areas of study, in which this is of utmost importance, is in the study of the role of men and women.

The distinctions God made in His sovereign creative plan is that they are spiritually equals with different roles and authority. These distinctions where determined before the fall as part of His original design. Sadly the corruption of sin has resulted in these divinely intended distinctions to become a battleground. The world, the flesh and the devil continue in rebellion against God's intention in this particular realm.

What must shape and mold the thinking, will and desires of the hearts of God's people is His Spirit through His Word.

""They have nothing to fear," she said.

"There's no sense of triumphalism.

"The time of division is over and the church can move on to other things.""

The blind leading the blind as per usual.

Liberalism is such a powerful seed of Satan that these "churches" cannot see the truth, the light nor even the common sense of the true witness upon earth.

Rom 2:19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
Rom 2:20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
