Cavemen 'may have used language'
They are typically portrayed as primitive brutes capable only of grunting, but new research now suggests Neanderthals may have whiled away the hours in their caves in conversation.

Scientists who have been trawling through the DNA found in Neanderthal bones have discovered that the now extinct species had a ‚Äúlanguage gene‚ÄĚ that is only found in modern humans.

Their controversial findings create the tantalising possibility that Neanderthals were in fact capable of speech much like humans and communicated with each other through their own language. ...

I am sure there were lots of caveman after the flood and when they were dispersed after the Tower of Babel. But research shows they were no fools, we can't even rebuild some of the structures they built thousands of years ago with all our modern day technology.

I do not believe in cavemen. I believe normal people lived in caves and were stronger and healthier than modern man who, compared to us, only appeared young after death. The law of entropy makes fools of modern scientist's calculations. Review the Answers in Genesis website for intelligent info on this subject.

Greg,

You are forgetting two important reasons why population was able to grow so incredibly last century: modern medicine and agriculture.

Never before the modern petrol-based industrial economy were we able to treat disease so effectively or grow so much food. That's why the population did not explode thousands of years ago. Human society simply did not have the tools to support billions of people. Prior to 1900 (and often prior to 1950) the world was not blessed to have things like food refrigeration, plastics, antibiotics, tractors and mechanical harvesting equipment, safe food-preservation methods, or country-spanning highways for trucks to distribute and deliver everything else I just mentioned. It took a long time for humans to learn this stuff.

It was no accident that the first woman existed at the same time as the first man. God did it and brought the woman to the man. Even if Adam had "evolved" without an Eve, his race would have been extinct within a generation (Adam's generation). GOD made them male and female and enabled procreation of the next generation. It was no accident. But, it was GOOD.

World Population is estimated to have grown from 2.5 billion in 1950 to 6.5 billion in 2005.

If the human race is really 400,000 years old as claimed by the news item, then human population should been reaching 6.5 billion around 396,000 years ago. Ancient, written histories from Moses, the Egyptians, and the Chinese begin not much earlier than around 3500 years ago.

Genesis 2:19-20 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

Genesis 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Genesis 3:8-10 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

"Cavemen 'may have used language' "

Really? I would think that ANY gregarious, non-solitary species or
people-group would HAVE to have some kind of language or their social
structures would have either scattered or never formed in the first
place.

I swear, the older I get, the more moronic our current "intellectuals"
seem to get. Maybe so-called common sense takes a while to develope
in 'humans'. Too bad it doesn't manifest itself sooner. Otherwise
we could save a LOT of money on surveys, exploring or defining what
most people already know or could figure out thems
