Christmas lights under threat
Britain could be facing a bleak mid-winter as the cost of following health and safety rules is forcing councils to consider scrapping Christmas lights, business leaders have warned.

Stringent new regulations and increased insurance premiums have pushed the price of a modest festive display to as much as ÂŁ25,000, and out of the reach of many town budgets.

Stephen Alambritis, from the Federation of Small Businesses, is warning that the country is heading for a “Christmas blackout”.

I was just thinking: Imagine how much energy and enviromental resources we'd save without all the frenzy of "holy days." So many churches are catering to the environmental movement's strange ideas, yet have their backs turned to the Bible which does not condone the gospel of holy days of obligation(Yes, it is another gospel because the official Roman Catholic doctrine is if you don't observe these days, you've committed sin and must seek forgiveness). As crazy as it sounds, the church could make the environmentalists a lot happier by not adding obligations on which scripture is silent. There's your answer, Britain. Transfer all these extra days to the Lord's Day Sabbath and things will be much simplified and more efficient. The Apostle Paul on the matter of observances: "But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are know of God, how turne ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain."(Gal. 4:9-11) "But though we or an angel from heaven preach any other unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed...let him be accursed."(Gal. 1:8&9)

Happy I only have Hanukkah lights! What is more the true light that has come into the world is Jesus the Christ!

Jesus here in chapter eight reveals that He is the light of the world. Then in chapter ten, the jews during Hanukkah (the feast of dedication), did not receive Jesus as Messiah because they were not of God's flock.

John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

John 10:22-29 Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’’s porch. Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, ““How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”” Jesus answered them, ““I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’’s name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’’s hand.

It would help them all if they would read the Bible and come to the truth that Christmas and many other days are not obligatory holy days, but days imposed by the popes.
