Welcome or Not, Orthodoxy Is Back in Russia’s Public Schools
KOLOMNA, Russia — One of the most discordant debates in Russian society is playing out in public schools like those in this city not far from Moscow, where the other day a teacher named Irina Donshina set aside her textbooks, strode before her second graders and, as if speaking from a pulpit, posed a simple question:
“Whom should we learn to do good from?”
“From God!” the children said.
“Right!” Ms. Donshina said. “Because people he created crucified him. But did he accuse them or curse them or hate them? Of course not! He continued loving and feeling pity for them, though he could have eliminated all of us and the whole world in a fraction of a second.”...
I agree that the Eastern-Orthodox churches are not true Bible-based churches at all. They have long forsaken Biblical Christianity in favour of their own man-made traditions the same way the Roman church did. But as far as political intrigue and genocide is concerned the Eastern-Orthodox churches have never sunk as low as the church of Rome. But I believe that all the Eastern-Orthodox churches will evetually be swallowed up by the Roman Catholic system along with all other apostate churches.
Thank-you, for the mag glass advice on Pastor Mike. Asking for forgiveness may temporarily soothe a guilty conscience but it doesn't make one a Christian. Many comments removed by the editor. I cannot imagine ever joking about my Lord and Savior once let alone the many times he has done in his quotes. He needs to be given the gospel and then probably ignored. After viewing his other blasphemous comments this is definitely not a tongue in cheek.
I rather had the children of Switzerland indoctrinated by Russian Orthodoxy than by god-less evolution. The Russian-Orthodox church is certainly not biblically sound, and yet I would choose them before the evolutionists, homosexualizers and even before the popish romanists.
Good for them....If you understanding Eastern and Byzantine theology it does have a place in society and culture. As a Luth living nearby this country..I say again, Good for them!
Pastor Mike wrote: Religion has no place in public education. School is for teaching children about science, not for brainwashing them with outdated mythology. The death of God is the beginning of wisdom.
What are you talking about?
In the love of Jesus Christ our Lord Abigail
