Nebraska State Senator Sues God
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The defendant in a state senator's lawsuit is accused of causing untold death and horror and threatening to cause more still. He can be sued in Douglas County, the legislator claims, because He's everywhere.

State Sen. Ernie Chambers sued God last week. Angered by another lawsuit he considers frivolous, Chambers says he's trying to make the point that anybody can file a lawsuit against anybody.

Chambers says in his lawsuit that God has made terroristic threats against the senator and his constituents, inspired fear and caused "widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants."

The Omaha senator, who skips morning prayers during the legislative session and often criticizes Christians, also says God has caused "fearsome floods ... horrendous hurricanes, terrifying tornadoes." ...

Ah, just goes to show what happens you when you go to a Jesuit university, Creighton, and pick up all those legalistic Jesuit arguments. Ernie, was the main inspiration for term limits for people serving in our Unicameral. He's smart, witty, and much too liberal for many people in this state. He does, apparently, does what many good Christians should do, miss the worthless commentary, by many worthless Legislative chaplains.

I don't agree with Ernie, and there are a lot of things I don't agree with Ernie, is that the woman's lawsuit was not frivolous. You have to remember that Nebraska is the state where one judge ruled that a person was too short to be sent to prison!

Well said Abigail.

I have one verse for this guy:

Job 36:22-23 wrote:
Behold, God is exalted in his power;
who is a teacher like him? Who has prescribed for him his way, or who can say, ‘You have done wrong’?

What's the use of suing God? God hasn't got any money.

Isn't there something called "vexatious litigation"?

Since this man doesn't know or recognize the God of the Holy Bible, his petition should read, "TO THE UNKNOWN GOD"!

And isn't it truly amazing how we can sing "God bless America" for our land and then vote ungodly people like this into office? The last thing this country needs is people who do not fear God and we are seeing more and more of them!

"The Omaha senator, who skips morning prayers during the legislative session and often criticizes Christians, also says God has caused "fearsome floods ... horrendous hurricanes, terrifying tornadoes." ..."
_________

These are acts of God. God is bringing judgement upon the world because of wickedness. Cataclysmic events are recorded from the earliest time since creation as acts of God because of the wickedness of humanity. Noah's flood and the fire and brimstone that rained on Sodom and Gomorrah are examples. Earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, pestilence, and wars are God's judgement on wicked humanity.

The Omaha senator cannot win in this lawsuit.

The Spirit of God will not always strive with man.

In the love of Jesus Christ our Lord
Abigail

Here again, this God hater "also criticizes Christians". You see how everyone who hates or disbelieves in God goes after "Christians"? By the way is that a halo around his head in the photo?

The guilty party is man.

God created a perfect world man ruined it by disobedience.

All are guilty in Adam, who with Eve WAS the human race at that time.

And the human race disobeyed and corrupted creation.

The result was death - and how it is effected - came on the scene.

Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned"

That would work.... if man wasn't responsible to God. God sets the rules of this universe and as such man has no legal or moral right to tell him he's wrong.

A being of infinite perfect goodness vs falable sinfull man's opinion. Hmm. Not hard to grasp really.
