Most think founders wanted Christian USA
Most Americans believe the nation's founders wrote Christianity into the Constitution, and people are less likely to say freedom to worship covers religious groups they consider extreme, a poll out today finds.

The survey measuring attitudes toward freedom of religion, speech and the press found that 55% believe erroneously that the Constitution establishes a Christian nation. In the survey, which is conducted annually by the First Amendment Center, a non-partisan educational group, three out of four people who identify themselves as evangelical or Republican believe that the Constitution establishes a Christian nation. About half of Democrats and independents do. ...

Jim Lincoln,

Todays wicked speculative masonry is like night and day compared to early operative masonry in the 1700's. Then masons were actually craftsmen whose lodges were the beginning of todays union halls. David Barton(over 300 citations in his book,"The Question of Free Masonry and the Founding Fathers-
Was America Founded by Free Masons?")
tells us that the developing system of secret signs and handshakes of these stone masons served the same purpose of today's union card. Do any today know how to construct a stone building?
Instead todays evil Masonry has constructed a large heretical edifice.
"Freemasons"were free to travel and practice their trade. Enrollment began to dwindle with carpentry taking over so those with no trade skills were accepted into membership"Accepted Masonry". Todays, "Free and Accepted Masonry lodges. The aristocratic class joined and the ability to socialize with royalty led all the other prominent members of society to join (other conveniences, also). They began to allegorize the operative masonry symbols, etc. Incredible false claims dating the Masons back to Adam and any in the Bible involved in some type of construction was a master mason, and had the secrets of masonry that God had given to Adam and continues.More after another writes.

George Washington was not much of a dedicated Mason. I think he went to the lodge once or twice.

"Freemasonry's basic tenets are:
1. brotherly love (tolerance, respect, kindness and understanding of others, especially to their Masonic Brothers)

It is NOT a Christian organization, but there are certainly many worse non-Christian organizations around like the Knights of Columbus!

I agree that there are worse organizations. One quick point however that you forgot to add to your list, giving false testimony to save brother masons.

JP,

Yes. Peter Marshall is one of a host of "Christian historians" who uphold the Biblical foundation of this country. Beliles and McDowell wrote,"America,s Providential History"-a great read. Horton Davies,"The Worship of the American Puritans" and David Bartons, "Lives of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence" are other great sources. Many publishers such as Vision Forum and Sprinkle Publications also put out great info. I have these in my possession and according to John Eidsmoe, "Christianity and the Constitution-The Faith of Our Founding Fathers", "Washingtons's upbringing, actions and words indicate that he was a Christian." There is proof if needed.

Jim Lincoln,

Your site is by the Masons. You would trust the Masons over Christian historians? I will further comment later.

Peter Marshall has some excellent material available on early America and its birth. From Sea to Shining Sea is one book he wrote. He also has a new DVD series. Marshall describes William Bradford as being on a missionary objective to spread the Gospel to America when he came.

The Puritans who came ashore at Plymouth Rock were solid Christians. Ninety percent of elected members of early American government were God fearing people. However, nearly from the beginning another group came to America.

I just finished watching the "Secret Mysteries DVD Combo," and I would highly recommend it. This combo includes four documentaries exposing the secret history of elite occult practices in America. - Google it.

"Secret Mysteries of America's Beginnings (Volume I)" - "Learn the incredible secrets of the esoteric traditions hidden within the manifold layers of signs and symbols in our nations' infrastructure; symbols that for many represent the secret destiny of the world's greatest nation."

"Riddles In Stone: Secret Architecture of Washington, D.C.", Explore the history behind the origins and focus of the world's most powerful nation: America.

What is the meaning of the seemingly countless occult images in our nation's capitol? Does this occult "wisdom" represent the interests of America, or a hidden agenda?

President Bush said he was fulfilling the "Ancient Hope" of the "New Order of the Ages" (shown in Volume I), was he merely acting out a plan reflected in the street layout and in
the architecture of Washington, D.C.

Masons as government leaders are fine with me, even if the article doesn't like the idea. I don't want theocrats or theonomists trying to gain power.

I think the above source should be some what enlightening. One good example is that the U.S. Federal government started out more tolerant than many the the New England states. Ah, but from what their beliefs suppose to be,
"Freemasonry's basic tenets are:

Are there really people so ignorant that do not believe that this nation was a Republic and founded under God? And are they so arrogant and proud to think God hasn't blessed this nation? Look at the other countries that were powerful like England and France that have turned away from God.

The US doesn't have a covenant with God like Israel and He can and is starting to withold His blessings on a nation that is turning their back on Him. I just wonder how long it will be before this country wakes up before another nation takes over this land?

One thing The Founders of this country didn't trust was the uneducated masses, this is why there were property requirements to be a voter and why both the Senate and the President were not directly elected by the rabble. The Founders believed in a republic not in pure democracy. This is what the educated voting populace of the country of the time believed,"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

George Washington a good Free Mason that he was helped establish a Masonic Republic.

I have given the reason why the U. S. Constitution makes no reference to God in the two-part blog listed above: "God and the Constitution of the United States," http://www.sermonaudio.com/new_details3.asp?ID=12989 and http://www.sermonaudio.com/new_details3.asp?ID=12991 .

While the national government was forbidden to have a religious establishment, the particular states were not, as understood historically. This "wall of separation between the Federal and state governments is expressed in the Tenth Amendment: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Corroborating this are the words of Thomas Jefferson: "In matters of religion I have considered that its free exercise is placed by the Constitution independent of the powers of the General Government. I have therefore undertaken on no occasion to prescribe the religious exercises suited to it, but have left them, as the Constitution found them, under the direction and discipline of the church or state authorities acknowledged by the several religious societies" (Thomas Jefferson, "Second Inaugural Address,"1805).

Matt Stevens,

In the article, Rick Green of Wallbuilders states, "the poll doesn't mean a majority favors a "theocracy" but that the Constitution reflects Christian values..."

The Bible was the rock on which this country was founded. It is not accident that France has gone through many changes but we still are governed by the same Constitution.

Never mind that two out of the three first succesful colonies were made by Christians.

Nevermind that the majority of the pilgrims were seeking religious freedom.

Nevermind that our founding Father's were all open religionists who depended and confided in God.

Nevermind that most of the early documents made reverences to God and his sovereignty.

Nevermind that congress originally had the routine to start off in prayer.

Nevermind that many of the state constitution made references to God.

Nevermind that since its inception most of Americans are Christians.

Nevermind the idiocrisy of the 2% elite still thinking that they are smarter than the majority.

Maybe in another 500 years they will rise to the big 3%.

What they failed to mention is that the average American also can't find Europe on a map of the world and can't name the two senators in his own state. Never mind the fact that the U.S. Constitution makes no reference to God. Never mind the fact that the Declaration of Independence is not a legal document. (The purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to make a moral case for dissolving the ties between the colonies and Great Britain; once that goal was achieved, the official role of the Declaration was finished.) Never mind the fact that the First Amendment was designed to protect offensive speech, because speech which is non-offensive by definition needs no protection. Want to know what it's like to live under the repression of a theocracy? Ask John Bunyan, Roger Williams, Stephen Bachiler, Anne Hutchinson, Mary Dyer, etc.

.................................... WELL SAID !!!

........................................ DITTO !!!

You said, "Take the source, and the rights will soon follow!"

"We" ARE SEEING THAT NOW !!!

The foolishness of men leaning on their own understanding, in Government and ReLiGiOn, has become an infectious catastrophe for "Our" Republic -- ALL THAT IS TRUE AND GOOD has been *compromised*...

AND WHY ??? -- Because of the disingenuousness of the Hearts of "We The Peope" and the Church in its 501c3 love affair...

"We" MUST ONCE AGAIN HUMBLE "Ourselves" BEFORE GOD
REMEMBERING THAT HE IS THE SOURCE OF "Our" RIGHTS --
THERE IS NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT FOR "Us" AS A NATION !!!

THERE MUST BE TRUE REPENTANCE AND THAT
REQUIRES "Us" TURNING BACK TO GOD AND
HIS PRINCIPLED TRUTHS !!!

Hillary Clinton told the board members of the nation's largest homosexual activist group, “This is exactly the kind of partnership we will have when I am president” - “We're going to make sure that nothing stands in the way of loving couples - gay or straight - who want to adopt children.” - She supports adding sexual orientation to the current hate crimes law too.

If Hillary or Obama or any like-minded get elected Hell will follow.

"We" MUST HAVE "TRUTH" !!!

The US document that established the US is the Declaration of Independence. (or for some reason, its signing marks our birthday July 4, 1776)

This document states that the source of our rights, is our creator, making them beyond ANY governments right to take away.

Take the source, and the rights will soon follow!
