WASHINGTON: A team of researchers from Tel Aviv University and the non-profit research and education organisation, EcoOcean has claimed to have found a site off the coast of Turkey whether the great flood of Noah, as described in the Bible, took place.
"We found that indeed a flood happened around that time. From core samples, we see that a flood broke through the natural barrier separating the Mediterranean Sea and the freshwater Black Sea, bringing with it seashells that only grow in a marine environment," said Andreas Weil of EcoOcean.
"There was no doubt that it was a flash flood — one that covered an expanse four times the size of Israel. It might not have been Noah, as it is written in the Bible, but we believe people in that region had to build boats in order to save their animals from drowning. We think that the ones who survived were fishermen — they already had the boats," Weil said....
I believe the bible account of a world wide flood. If you look at the 300 world flood legends from around the world, it adds credence to the bible's account.
Earlier this year we saw the grand canyon and it was an awesome testament of God's wrath on sin. Tour guides kept saying "billions of years" when in fact it was "billions of gallons of water" that carved out that canyon.
Amen and amen — Cliff, Abigail, Dessie, Rossana, and JHawk — keep up the good testimony! The apostle Peter, by the Spirit of Christ foretold the unbelief and wilful ignorance that would prevail in the last days. An unregenerate man at enmity with his Maker cannot embrace the testimony that warns of his coming destruction and ignores the day of opportunity to trun from his ways.
How foolish of man to try and denounce the Truth of God. Can it be that the same God who placed the sun in the sky and the moon among the stars, is the same God who mumbles as He speaks? He said that He would destroy every man upon the earth and every breast of the field because of the sin in the heart of man . God cannot lie. (Titus 1:2) The rainbow reminds us that the destruction of the earth will not be water next time but-fire. Blessed is the man who fears the God that never changes and never sleeps.
This is one of the things up for debate. I have no doubt that Noah and his family, along with their animals, or animals indigenous to the area where Noah lived, were the only ones to survive a literal world wide flood. The debate comes in defining 'world'; ala how the Americas were known as the new world. A world wide flood could be limited to a smaller scale than what we consider today to be world wide. It makes no difference really, God's wrath destroyed a sinful nation (or world if you prefer) and only saved the remnant from which we would get the saviour. If there were areas on this planet that did not recieve judgement one can assume they were either pleasing to God or that they were given so little knowledge of God that they were not held accountable by the same standards as God's chosen people. The good that comes from geological evidence of the massive flood is that people have to deal with it. They can say it was limited and that Noah never existed, but they can not say the story is an allegory, because now the evidence is there.
This article shows the ignorance or the purposeful distortion of the researchers. Everyone was drowned in the flood of Noah except he and his family—eight people. This article states that the people had to build boats to save their animals.
