Learn from the fall of Rome, US warned
The US government is on a ‚Äėburning platform‚Äô of unsustainable policies and practices with fiscal deficits, chronic healthcare underfunding, immigration and overseas military commitments threatening a crisis if action is not taken soon, the country‚Äôs top government inspector has warned.

David Walker, comptroller general of the US, issued the unusually downbeat assessment of his country‚Äôs future in a report that lays out what he called ‚Äúchilling long-term simulations‚ÄĚ.

These include ‚Äúdramatic‚ÄĚ tax rises, slashed government services and the large-scale dumping by foreign governments of holdings of US debt.

Drawing parallels with the end of the Roman empire, Mr Walker warned there were ‚Äústriking similarities‚ÄĚ between America‚Äôs current situation and the factors that brought down Rome, including ‚Äúdeclining moral values and political civility at home, an over-confident and over-extended military in ...

Now is the time for Christians to pray!!

(2Ch 7:14) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

David Walker, comptroller general of the US, issued this unusually downbeat assessment of our country's future. This article was printed in the Financial Times of London. This is news! One would expect to read and hear about this a lot in the news. Did anyone see or hear anything about it in our own main stream media? Does this not speak volumes of the dog that didn't bark?

Please, my fellow Christian travelers try to do a little bit of research on any issue of importance. Information from the internet can be cross referenced and credentials can be verified even more easily than with traditional printed media.

I'm calm -- just not blind and deaf !!!

Preachers preaching the Word of God ???

The *conundrum* we face today is this --- WHAT IS TRUTH ???

We've got so many Denominations teaching their versions of TRUTH !?!?

The RCC
The Baptist
The ELCA
The UMC
The Assemblies of God, Etc...

Men like their own tWiStEd truth *more than* GOD'S TRUTH !?!?!

There is a ***famine*** for THE HEARING OF GOD'S WORD !!!

THESE ARE DANGEROUS TIMES !!!

A people so accustomed to the *watered down* messages of men -- a *damnable* people who are masters of COMPROMISE and *will not* stomach *THE TRUTH*...

DO you AND others NOT PERCEIVE ***THE URGANCY*** OF THE HOUR ???

APPARENTLY NOT !!!

Men have interjected their own HELLISH doctrines -- such as -- OSAS -- Ordaining *homosexuals* living in committed same sex relationships as Priests -- Accepting UNREPENTANT *homosexuals* as members of The Church -- 501c3 SELLOUTS -- PeRvErTiNg GOD'S LOVE making HIM a party to *sin* -- etc... such a SICK BODY filled with *itching ears*.

WHERE IS THE FEAR OF GOD ???

The Devil and all the demons of Hell believe and FEAR GOD !!!

WHAT OF HONOR --- MORAL DECENCY --- ALL THAT TRUTH EMBODIES ???

WOE TO this people who *will not* REPENT AND STAND !!!

WOE TO America !!!

jhawk, I guess you've heard it announced on the controlled media that the 501c3 preachers have been conscripted to preach parts of Romans 13 to their congregations to elicit compliance for marshal law and relocation to FEMA camps.

Wow KK you need to calm down a bit.

"Conservative Radio" is not what will save the country.

The only hope for this country is preachers preaching the Word of God.

Like it says in the Bible, "pray for harvesters".

Have you heard ??? --- the liberals are at it again !!!

Nancy Pelosi, Dick Durbin, Dianne Feinstein and other radical
liberals are trying to inhibit FREE SPEECH with the implementation of
the "Fairness Doctrine" !!!

These liberals want to *squelch* the Conservative Voices of TRUTH !?!

Nancy Pelosi's Senior Advisor said:
"Conservative radio is a huge threat and a political advantage for Republicans and we have had to find a way to limit it."

Their way of "limiting it" is to become the THOUGHT POLICE !!! -- Sounds more like Communism than A FREE America !!!

Listen to what Senator Dianne Feinstein had to say:
"One-sided programming pushes the American people into extreme views. Talk radio is overwhelmingly one way."

This woman must have the intelligence of a rock !?!

Senitor Dick Durbin, The Democratic *Majority Whip*, said:
"It's time to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine"

"We" MUST CALL "Our" REPRESENTATIVES IN *DC* AND ***KEEP ON CALLING*** --- BURN UP THE PHONE LINES !!!

The Switchboard Operator in DC ---___ 202-224-3121

Call and ask to speak with *your* Public ***Servants*** !!!

TELL them TO VOTE ***..NO..*** ON The "Fairness Doctrine" !!!

President Bush's Pnone Number ---___ 202-456-1111

Tell everyone you know **TO CALL** !!!

It appears the wicked are soon to be cut off and thrown into the wind like the chaff they are. Nice try humanists.

After years of trying to anhilate God, they stand on the brink of thier own extinction.

Do you recall when the economy fell just not too long after G.W. Bush had been in office ??? This was the result of, you guessed it, Bill Clintons *failed* administration...

I'm not saying G.W. Bush doesn't hold some culpability *today*, but you can thank Bill Clinton too --- all he did was conduct himself like some out of control juvenile in his never ending petting sessions *playing with cigars*...

"We" HAVE GOT TROUBLE --- BIG TROUBLE ON ALL SIDES !!!

Drawing parallels with the end of the Roman empire, Mr Walker warned there were ‚Äústriking similarities‚ÄĚ between America‚Äôs current situation and the factors that brought down Rome, including ‚Äú**DECLINING MORAL VALUES** and political civility at home, an over-confident and over-extended military in foreign lands and **FISCAL IRRESPONSIBILITY by the central government**‚ÄĚ.

‚ÄúSound familiar?‚ÄĚ Mr Walker said. ‚ÄúIn my view, it‚Äôs time to learn from history and take steps to ensure the American Republic is the first to stand the test of time.‚ÄĚ

A-men !!!

LEARN From History and TAKE STEPS TO ENSURE The American Republic is the first to stand the test of time !!!

"We" MUST RETURNING TO GOD'S MORAL ABSOLUTES !!!

It's Time To Take Out *the trash* In DC !!!

VERITAS VICIT !!!

GOT TRUTH ???

Hmmm

STAND !!!

The demand for satifaction blinds many of us to long-term
economic consequences, which we are now feeling and will
continue to until we find a way to keep our expectations
from out-pacing our capacity to meet them.

Why should we marvel when elected officials can't control
spending when many of those who elect them have huge credit
card debt themselves.

Mr. Walker's got his work cut out for him, but he can only
influence elected officials, not those who elect them.

Better economic education certainly is one answer, but to
Echo Brother SB below, citizens' application of Matthew 6:33
would be much better.

I think the real problem here is SIN. Our nation has truly been blessed by God, but we are turning our back on Him. Abortion, murder, homosexuality, the removal of God and prayer from our schools and government, I wonder how much more God will take? Isaiah ch 5 talks about a vineyard that the LORD planted and placed a hedge around for protection. Although this passage is speaking of Israel, The symbolism fits our nation as well. It says that the LORD sought good grapes from His vineyard but only got wild grapes, so He took away the protective hedge. I think that is what's happening to the USA. God has taken down the hedge.

Agree...but I also like to say that if you really look at the history of nations, powerful nations have their place in the sun for a time. Look out for China, India and Russia. Terv. davey
