Survey: Christians worldwide too busy for God
Christians worldwide are simply becoming too busy for God, a newly released five-year study revealed.

In data collected from over 20,000 Christians with ages ranging from 15 to 88 across 139 countries, The Obstacles to Growth Survey found that on average, more than 4 in 10 Christians around the world say they "often" or "always" rush from task to task.

Busyness proved to be the greatest challenges in Japan, the Philippines, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Indonesia. Christians in Uganda, Nigeria, Malaysia and Kenya were least likely to rush from task to task. But even in the less-hurried cultures, about one in three Christians report that they rush from task to task. In Japan, 57 percent agreed. ...

There is a cancer that is eating away at the heart of Christianity the blight of Spiritual Pride And Doing Things Your Way Rather Than God's Way And Making Rationales For Doing It.Humility and humbleness are Fruits Of The Spirit Vanity & Self Righteousness are not.

Your Post:
"We don't know each other, however, we/I can feel a kindred spirit that the world does not understand."

Thank you for your post, Donnie. You are a precious soul!!!

I pray that the Lord direct you in your seeking and that you grow in love and knowledge of the Lord.

"Who is wise, and he shall understand these [things]? Prudent, and he shall know them? For the ways of the LORD [are] right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein." (Hosea 14:9)

In the love of Jesus Christ our Lord

Re: BEING IN GOD'S WORD

THERE IS ***GREAT COMFORT*** IN THE COUNSEL OF GOD'S WORD !!!

IT WILL CONSOLE YOU

IT WILL PROVIDE ***THE GREATEST SOLACE*** FOR YOUR HEART

IT WILL RELIEVE ***THE MISERIES, WOES AND DICOMFORTS*** OF THIS LIFE

IT WILL SOOTHE YOUR SOUL

Donnie, REST IN GOD'S WORD ***AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN*** !!!

It is a trick straight from the Pit of Hell to entangle us in so many "things" that pull us away from THE ONE TRUE "THING" !!!

We Must Continually ***BE RENEWED*** In The Spirit of Our Minds --- This Requires GOD'S WORD My Brother !!!

You Are A Christian -- But *DO NOT* Be Led Away From THE TRUTH -- YOU STAY IN GOD'S WORD ***AS OFT AS POSSIBLE*** -- IT IS FOR ***YOUR OWN GOOD AND SAFTY*** in the midst of a wicked and adulterous world that is running headlong after *their own* self-idolization... many there are that have *lost* their WAY ***AND PERCEIVE IT NOT*** !!!

THERE IS ***REST*** FOR YOU IN GOD'S WORD ***KEEP IT NEAR AND DEAR*** TO YOUR HEART MY BROTHER !!!

Ponder Matthew 6:33 -- Put 1st THINGS 1st ALWAYS !!! ---
Lest we forget and be drawn away into temptation by *our own* evil desires... (James 1:14-16). - Let us not be fooled - let us not be fools !!!

Take Care Brother !!!

With Love *IN* Christ, KK

Fellow Saint and Abigail, God bless you both for your patient and faithful postings on Sermon Audio, for counteracting the pious blather of the antinomians. May God use your words to revive a remnant to holiness and commitment to Him.

Hopalong, your postings are becoming quite insufferable and your unjustified attitude of superiority is showing itself to be on a par with that of Yamil, JD, and many other carnal posters who like to hang out here.

Thank you so much,,Abigail and Fellow Saint!! You both were an encouragement to me, each in your own way. Praise God. You both gave me some wonderful insight from God's Word and also your own personal way in which you sturdy, read, pray, etc. Isn't it a blessing that we have this room? We don't know eachother, however we/I can still feel a kindred spirit that the world does not understand. I come to these rooms once and awhile and get discouraged by some people and how they knock each other, etc. You BOTH are NOT one of them. Have a Blessed night/day. It's 1:30 a.m. here in New Jersey. Just can't sleep!

Donnie,
I cannot judge you and I don't know what all you are wrapped up in, but we're not talking about becoming a monk or saying prayers 24/7. I don't see in the Bible where God is going to give up on you just because you've gotten yourself into a hectic schedule. On the contrary, I think He can help you get better organized. I was pondering this article more and I began to have many thoughts about the creation account in Genesis. God made a good model for us there. He worked six days and rested on the seventh. I hope and pray you have one day to at least relax from your regular weekly job obligations. Can you take time for worship one day a week for an hour or two(not necessarily sunday, but a day that would be most convenient)? Daily devotion is good also. Take time frequently to let God speak to you from the pages of the Bible and to pray, even if it's just for five or ten minutes..a few scriptures and the Lord's Prayer. Just some of my ways of doing things to help my spiritual life. Maybe this helps you.

Donnie, I am praying for you, as you requested. Your relationship with Jesus Christ is the only important thing in life. You must study your Bible, especially the New Testament, and seek to obey the words of Jesus Christ. Also, you need to spend time in prayer each day, seeking to draw close to the Lord.

"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yoursleves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." (Heb 4:7-8-10)

In the love of Jesus Christ

I believe I am a Chrsitian and have to admit that I get myself wrapped up in everyday life, work, etc. I know I should be in the Word much more often than I am in it. As a result, I live a life of doubts and fears, anxiety, wondering if I truly am saved, etc. I need the prayers of God's true people to "get me going" in the Word, etc. Any suggestions out there re: self discipline, personal time with the Lord, prayer, etc. ????? I'll be waiting!!!!

"And they worshiped the creature more than the creator." So we see it happening today. Gotta get more money, gotta get this done and that done, gotta gotta gotta, get get get, go go go...and for what?.....and....then drop dead! Sad case for many societies. That day of rest is for a good reason: physical and spiritual health. Use it.

We were not placed on the earth to do our own will—self-serving, self-loving.
We were not placed on the earth simply to survive.
We were not placed on the earth to attain as much wealth as possible.
We were not placed on the earth to excel in worldly knowledge, intellectual capabilities, scholarly wisdom.
We were not placed on the earth to have a comfortable lifestyle, keeping pace with our neighbors.
We were not placed on the earth to establish a worldly nation and government.
We were not placed on the earth to build excellent temples and cathedrals and places of worship.

We were placed on the earth to prepare for eternity.
We were placed on the earth to serve others.
We were placed on the earth to become Sons of God through the blood of Jesus Christ and the rebirth—the infilling of the Holy Ghost.
We were placed on the earth to become temples of the Holy Spirit.
We were placed on the earth to worship and glorify God and Christ our Redeemer.
We were placed on the earth to be lights to the dark world that knows not God.
We were placed on the earth so that God could be glorified in us.
We were placed on the earth to endure hardship, trials, temptations, tribulations so that we could grow in trust and faith and spiritual maturity.

"About 6 in 10 Christians say that it's "often" or "always" true that "the busyness of life gets in the way of developing my relationship with God.""

All Satan has to do is increase the demands of mammon, vanity and people influence in our lives and temptation has moved into disobedience, as Adam and Eve found to their(our) cost.

James 4:4 ..know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

1John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
